I'd like to point out, i think dancing is the stupidest thing one can do. Also boxing is a dying sport though i like it more than a lot of the others (golf, tennis, etc). So Al from Happy days (fun fact, he is somehow still alive and will be 100 in 4 years from my research) is a boxing coach who desires to coach a champ. Seems like last weeks of the Mel guy from Alice ( who caused a lot of guessing who he was and i even said AL from happy days) who wanted to be a manager. anyhow the guy he picks turns out to be concussion prone and could die accoring to Blanche from Golden Girls. From NFL concussion stories, i thought people in the 1970's were totally unaware of concussion stuff. brief thoughts of this story arc include 1. Imagine punching Al in the face with that huge honker of his.
2. When Rue starts mock punching, everyone notices at the eating dinner place, most episodes you can scream at someone and no one notices.
3. Tattoo was the money holder for the boxing match and greedily eyes the money. Is he like Cartman on south park for this show, the center of all that is evil and bad? whats he need the money for, wheres he go?
4. what kind of manager is he anyway,(besides no signs of a broken from fighting nose) his advise ringside was "jab" "use combinations" "block block". Know why he threw in the towel, he stopped giving such great advice and was thinking about feeling bad and all that leaving his boxer lost as what to do.
5 Tattoo got off the phone with Roaurke and goes "ahhh wah-er" i think it's French. its funny.
6. Special effects were extra extra terrible this episode. when boxer has a big hit showing concussions, it sounds like that Bionic Woman noise but less chachee cha chee and more DOng dong dong dongy..
The other arc was a lady who wants to dance like Ginger Rodgers and gets this powder she puts on her feet and does. So she goes to a tryout and a highly skilled blond who worked her whole life training is her competition (and thus really bad) but this lady amazes all. what amazed me is a bunch of women were competing to dance to some old white guys expertise. Seemed far fetched. So i thought, its not really her dancing so is it really a fantasy. then she runs out of powder for a stupid reason and i realized they would say it was love that made her dance that way. She fell in love with a guy she barely danced with or got to know (though they did make out during the last one, does that count?). guess what, now shes flying home with him. hope they live nearby or otherwise she has a big bed or guest room. (the boxers all left together too, stupid) \ other observations
1. Tattoo was told by Gaylord he could use him for finding show girls for him, which got Tattoo doing his perverse desperate laugh.
2. the guy testing out the women dancers was very prancey. prance prance prance.
3.When Gaylord meets the lady and dances on the dance floor, music is coming from where? also shes wearing a dress that shows a lot of side boob through a red see through dress .
4.Besides Gaylord Perry, this is the second Gaylord i have heard of in my life. All are from the 70's/ with gay rights, marriage fashionable now, you think we would see that name coming back.
overall decent episode considering the subject matter at hand.
