Father Dowling is distraught for causing problems and a man appears in his house sitting in a chair smoking a pipe. When the man turns around it is Sherlock Holmes. He tells Father Dowling he came to help him.

Marie the house cook, Father Phil and Sister Steve all hear Father talking to someone but when they open the door Father is alone.

Nice fantasy, good ending.

Holmes lends a hand

A man is murdered in his house as he is hiding a paper in a candlestick holder. Father Dowling gets some help from Sherlock Holmes in this. Episode that is tinged with some fantasy. The mystery itself is pedestrian but the repartee and conversation between Dowling and Holmes is good.
