I Liked Kirby

Frasier's efforts to get yet another woman are dependent on a deal he made with that awful prom queen. He is working to get her idiot son, Kirby, to pass an American history class. One point that is never dealt with is the fact that the kid has no knowledge of anything, let alone some understanding of history. He is a total airhead. But in his vacuous being, he is also pretty funny, playing off Frasier's indignity. The business with Roz in this drama is absurd. Too outrageous even for a less significant episode. By the way, why is Frasier such a chick magnet anyway?

A Passing Fancy

Warning: Spoilers
Sandwiched together with the last seriously weak episode, this one fares no better, with the addition of Kirby alongside Lana only adding to the misery.

What on Earth went wrong with 'Frasier' as a show around this point?! There are very few episodes of any real quality in the eighth series, and this certainly wouldn't rank as one of them.

Dire plots, dire new characters introduced - the fact they drag the whole Niles and Daphne's sleep issues out across the whole two parter is a sign of just how desperate they were to fill the time.

Overall, this is another very weak episode of a show that can, and indeed should, be doing better.
