You don't see love. You feel it.

Warning: Spoilers
A touching romantic drama about sailor John Erickson who falls in love with a blind girl (Kathryn Grayson) he meets while walking on the beach, and is upset she's agreed to marry another man only if she can regain her sight through an upcoming operation. She's obviously responsive to Erickson's attraction, believing that he can see into her mind, it's very nice when he approaches her the first time that she has absolutely no fear of the strange voice she hears. This is a nice opportunity to see the beautiful Grayson in a mostly non-singing role, and she certainly is lovely. A haunting rendition of "Someone to Watch Over Me" in the background is like a mystical sound coming from the sea breeze, and that gorgeous soprano is heard when Grayson breaks into it. While Erickson is certainly noble in his desire to take care of her if she doesn't get her sight back, it's clear he doesn't realize the ramifications if that happens. She's certainly worthy of loving and being loved, practically angelic, essentially too good to be true. But it's such a heartwarming story that even the impossibilities become irresistible.
