"Florida and Carl" finds the two going out on their first date together, she a nervous wreck about what to wear on her first outing as a lonely widow. Carl (Moses Gunn) reveals himself to be a lifelong bachelor, but conversation is stifled by the restaurant's poor service, Florida apologetic, Carl demanding. When he goes so far as to describe her as 'perfect,' she's insulted but still holds her tongue, so he walks out after paying for a cab to take her home. Despite her adamant refusal to discuss what happened everything comes out in time, and Florida learns a lesson about the difference between being one's self in private as opposed to in public.
