Ricky has some splanin' to do.

Warning: Spoilers
Knowing what we know now about the marriage of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz, this episode seems to be an intrusion into their private lives even though it is supposedly fiction. Lucy suspect Ricky of philandering with one of his dancing partners (Helen Silvers) and sets out to trap him. Of course, with the help of Ethel, she creates more of an ordeal then the fruitless suspicions. Desi's rendition of "Jezebel" is very sultry with Silver's a seductive dance partner. It's almost surreal, made funny by Lucy's sudden appearance in the chorus. Other than the musical number, there's nothing really special about this episode that has a typical married couple misunderstanding at the center of this plot. Easily wrapped up with little conflict, it still provides some unforgettable laughs.

The dance is funny

Lucy's jealousy is always amusing I like her awful performance and Ricky clearly knew. Him wearing the wig she wore makes me smile for some reason. I think it's cute. I wish the title would change because the girl doesn't sing she dances with Ricky.

Only the ending is funny...

This isn't a bad episode by tv standards, but definitely bad in consideration that it's I Love Lucy and most of the episodes are much better in quality. It has a fairly slow and boring build with very little comedy at play. The ending with Lucy taking over the dancer's role in her routine with Ricky is pretty great though and saves it from an otherwise pointless half-hour. Maybe it's just me, but I never liked the episodes that focused heavily on Ricky's musical performances.
