Good western story
searchanddestroy-112 March 2020
John Ireland plays here an ex confederate soldier who, after civil war, goes west with his wife to get a new land and become a rancher in Kansas. But the land where he wants to live is supposed to belong to a land baron, a ruthless man who makes law and order in the small town. Anthony Caruso shines in the local king pin role. I know this is a scheme already told a billion times, since the western genre exists, the true and authentic story of the conquest of the West; land barons against homesteaders. It's a bit too short for this kind of story which should have been even better for a longer feature I guess. It's interesting to watch a western story made by Don - ADVENTURES OF HADJ BABA - Weis, more used to direct comedies or light dramas. A flat and too much predictable ending.
