Picking Up the Pieces
Hitchcoc22 March 2015
The unit is running out of blood as they fill the hospital with patients. They are trying to make do with things as they are. One patient has lost a leg from a land mine. Another is unconscious from some unexplainable cause. The soldiers have seen enough death and know that if they are OK'd to leave, they will be sent to the front. BJ has to negotiate with a guy who has a whole bunch of enterprises going on. Another guy is from Puerto Rico and has had his mustache cut off (which makes him lose face with his peers). Klinger comes to his aid. This is one of those episodes where we get a look at all the things that occupy the professional life of these guys.

Interesting episode

Warning: Spoilers
It's also been well documented here . I will just add a few thoughts. This is an episode that no main character has a big part or plot but we get to see them dealing with patients and whatever crisis comes up. It's a snapshot of each.

You can really see Frank getting to the end .He has a pretty funny scene towards the end but he's really getting tedious at this point.

Margaret handles a patient's interest in her ( he's probably bored more than anything.) but she is calm and has good comebacks.

BJ has a patient that doesn't want to be shipped home but by now BJ has the hang of the place and knows not to get to into this one.

Klinger has a humorous little plot with a patient mourning his mustache.

Potter deals with various situations and Hawkeye has some moments with a patient that fortunately didn't get Burns and a medic with a terrific outlook.

Frank Burns's second last episode
safenoe14 September 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I am incredibly honored to join Hitchcoc in reviewing M*A*S*H episodes on IMDb. This episode showcases the stories of the patients in the 4077th, with a desperate shortage of blood supplies. This is the second last episode featuring Frank Burns, and it's no surprise his character, having run its course, leaves in the next episode. We then have the Hawkeye/BJ/Potter/Winchester quartet for the rest of the series.
