There's no murder mystery in this one. Instead, it focuses on a divorce of a couple who are Ben's friends. Another part is a man who tripped and fell off Ben's porch and is now suing him.
I had to go and check if maybe there was a writers' strike during this time period. Given how strange this episode was. But no, there wasn't. They actually wrote this, gave a budget for it and filmed it. The question I have, is why? The divorcing couple were annoying af and they got too much screen time. Hey, I love oddball weirdos. But this couple were just absurd. And as far as I'm concerned I already have my oddball weirdo in Matlock. Lol.
The other story with the man who was suing Ben was more appealing. Leanne and Ben are having a conflict because she is repping one of the divorced couples while Ben is repping the other. Then Leanne is repping Ben in the lawsuit, to which Ben questions her about it leading Leanne to feel that her father doesn't respect her skill as a lawyer. Leanne does prove the lawsuit was nothing more than fraud.
Anyway, not a great one. It seemed they wanted to bring a little conflict between Ben and Leanne or something and it was this they came up with? I don't know. The show is lighthearted and was always meant to be a murder mystery of the week formula, which I like. 4/10.
