Meeting the Wales
mitchrmp6 January 2013
This is the first episode we get to see the Wales family. They are a really mean bunch. The father is widowed with three children. His boys are a lot meaner than he is, yet the father keeps those boys in line. Dalton and Billy Dan do what they want regardless of the consequences. But though they are both mean, one was cursed with a conscience.

In this episode, they introduce themselves to Kathy Monroe when they run their horses across the Monroe Homestead. The boys try to tell Kathleen that the land is actually Wales land because the creek changed direction. Clayt is pretty hacked, but when Pa Wales comes to talk to Clay, he talks. Pa wants the land and Clayt says no. They are no longer friends.

After the Wales try to burn down their house, Clay's short temper causes him to get him and Ruel Jackson into a lot of hot water after Pa Wales' favorite horse breaks his leg and has to be shot. Of course, the truth is that the boys were at fault but that doesn't stop them from pinning the blame on Clayt and Ruel, which causes them to be quickly judged and sentenced by Pa Wales. The judgment: to be hung at dawn the following day.

There's a lot more to this story. Kathy and the kids are brought to Wales' land. Jim discovers what's going on and brings Major Mapoy and his men...That's all I can say!

If you want to see more of the Wales, fear not. There are more episodes to come. The mute daughter will have a very important episode coming up where Clay is again accused. This time it's against her and it's really personal!
