Shao Khan develops a new plan to kill Kung Lao: since Princess Kitana made friends with Kung Lao in episode 5, he sends an assassin looking exactly like Kitana after him. Only Taja is becoming suspicious, when Kung Lao is drained of energy by the fake Kitana. Vorpax intervenes on behalf of Shang Tsung, which isn't really making sense, because Shang Tsung could find other ways to be useful to the emperor, he doesn't need Kung Lao as a continuous threat. Otherwise he wouldn't have tried several times to dispose of him. "Need creates strange alliances", Shang Tsung weakly argues to cover the unconvincing script idea. This is certainly one of the weaker epiodes of the series.
