A 'Tony Franciosa' Segment Episode
When a good friend Elton Wakefield (David Brian) is injured in an accident....then suddenly dies during an apparently routine operation in a Top Hospital, 'People' Magazine's Star Investigative Reporter the charismatic 'Jeff Dillon' (Tony Franciosa) aided by his faithful 'Girl Friday' Research assistant Peggy Maxwell (Susan Saint James) begin to investigate after a Nurse who was in attendance advises that the patient should NOT have died....
So with Dillon's characteristic dogged determined approach he gradually uncovers facts that indicate a famous Top Doctor may not be all he claims to be....(?)
Dillon is shocked to discover a trail of apparent murder....
The story concludes with Dillon being drugged by 'Laughing Gas'.... ...and then placed under an 'X-Ray' machine and left....to be almost 'X-Rayed' to death....!
What begins as just an apparent tragic unfortunate death as the result of an accident builds to a nearly fatal conclusion (for Jeff Dillon) ...and a very thought provoking conclusion re the unquestioning trust we often place in such 'professionals'
