Water of eternal life
unbrokenmetal21 December 2014
Warning: Spoilers
The relic of this episode is a bottle filled with water from the Fountain of Youth. Legend has it, as you probably know, that anyone who drinks from it will be rejuvenated and gain eternal life. Nigel is attacked by a blond woman in Seville and he hasn't got the foggiest idea why. It turns out that the attack was actually aimed at Nigel's brother Preston (previously appeared in 'The Royal Ring', season 2). Preston got a letter from King Charles I that probably is a clue leading to the precious bottle, and he wants Sydney to help him find it. The relic of a lifetime", he beams. The Spanish expert who confirms the authenticity of the letter for them hates to see them leave with it and informs Sean, another relic hunter. Sydney follows the trace to England where Sean and the blond woman will be her competitors in the hunt.

If you are watching this episode, you do not get the impression that the 'Relic Hunter' series is near its ending. I would even say the last season is the best. Even a typical episode like this, with a mission to go down into the crypt and search for the relic, is flawless with several interesting characters.
