Sammy Davis Jr. makes a return appearance on "Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In"
tavm29 February 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Having previously appeared in the first four seasons of "Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In", Sammy Davis Jr. makes another guest appearance in what turned out to be the final season of the show. So the "Here Come the Judge" skits reappear and he once again plays a lost kid. Lisa Farringer returns on a cruise ship where she once again keeps saying "Whoopie!". Her solo cut-ins are starting to become really lame. The show salutes the fifties with jokes related to that decade's fads and celebrities. Like this exchange between Rowan and Martin-Dan: "You know, the fifties had Eddie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds known as the ideal newlyweds, and who could forget that?" Dick: "I don't know but Eddie and Debbie would like to!" There's also a nice bit about Sammy's start as a kid joining his father and uncle as part of the Will Mastin Trio with Sammy as his dad, Willie Tyler as Will Mastin, and Lester as the kid Sammy! This was a pretty amusing ep of "Laugh-In". Oh, and also in this ep, Gary Owens once again gets doused with water, just as he was back in the first season during the show that aired on April Fool's Day!
