On Fire

When the "hot" new Biology teacher Desiree Atkins (Krista Allen) arrives in Smallville, Clark Kent gets excited in her presence and his hormones sets fire to his classroom. After the incident, Lex Luthor informs that he will get married with Desiree and invites Clark to be his best man. When Desiree tries to seduce Clark Kent, he realizes that she has the power of seducing men.

"Heat" is a funny episode of Smallville, with Clark Kent leaning how to deal with his sexuality and his hormones. Krista Allen is really hot and her dresses are wonderful. My vote is eight.

Hilarious

Warning: Spoilers
This episode is "oversexualized" on purpose: to highlight the fact that Superman is still a teenage boy. It's also hilarious how Clark going through puberty activates "heat" vision. The symbolism is everywhere!

Fun monster of the week.

Warning: Spoilers
Clark hit puberty, and writers described it in a funny yet accurate way. The symbolism can be too blunt for some, but I thought it was bold and nicely done. Season one was a great start for the series, even the cheesiest episodes had their upsides. And that season finale was spectacular. However, I always thought the second season premiere, was too slow and underwhelming to live up to the anticipation. So Heat, is where the new season starts for me, as well as the first day of school year, according to the show's timeline. I'm not very thrilled by the Désirée character, and think this plot and vilain belonged to a Charmed episode, but she really wrecked havoc in town the little time she's in. And Krista Allen does a good job portraying her. However the true appeal lies manly in Clark's discovery of a new power, and that Summer hits of 2002 soundtrack. As far as characters are go, I familiarized myself with my early seasons Chloe hate again. She's really annoying there...

Too hot for tv

The new ability clark finds out he has is neat but the way its brought into the episode and the teacher is just wrong..Seems like they wanted more teenage boy viewers so they decided to amp up the inappropriate sexuality in this episode. sexual metaphors and awkward visual symbolism honestly its over the top and just nasty! I understand the target audience is teens but that doesnt mean selling women's sexuality like meat in the market.

Warning: Spoilers
A porn star comes to Smallville?.. Yuck..The new ability Clark gets is cool but the over sexualized women in this episode is disgusting. Its completely wrong and a really gross way to introduce his heat vision! Definitely one of the worst so far.

The first inappropriate 'Smallville' episode
Rcwilkinson12317 September 2007
Warning: Spoilers
In this episode, Clark learns the ability of heat vision. To me, it is unfortunate how this ability manifests itself, in a rather inappropriate way.

A young woman named Desiree is the new biology teacher at Smallville High. She arrives in an extremely short dress, playing a video about procreation. This turns Clark on, which causes heat waves to emit from his eyes. After consulting with his parents, Clark realizes that this shift in hormones is what ignites the emittance of heat. Not soon after, Clark learns to be able to control this ability, similar to how he did with learning how to manipulate x-ray vision and only x-ray what is appropriate.

This episode is disappointing to me because it is the first episode to truly be inappropriate. It is cool to see Clark learn his heat-vision ability, but the matter by how he learns is disappointing. The directors of the show basically had the actress who played Desiree nearly go nude in a scene, which was very disappointing to see from the directors. This episode gets a 5 just because it introduces a new ability, but doesn't deserve anything better because of the sexual-related storyline.
