At the breakfast table, the Nelsons discuss a car accident which occurred overnight, at the corner of Highland and Maple. Ozzie (as Ozzie Nelson) reveals he almost had an accident at the dangerous cross-section. Harriet (as Harriet Nelson) warns David (as David Nelson) and Ricky (as Ricky Nelson) to be careful in the streets, while walking to school. Women are acknowledged as poorer drivers than men, but better than young children. With Washington's birthday approaching, the Nelsons endeavor to have the city install a much-needed traffic signal. Ricky says, "I don't mess around, boy." And, when the light is put in, each Nelson, along with Thorny (Don DeFore), claims credit. So, who had the traffic signal installed?
