Arguably the best episode
Kindall27 March 2007
This show hit its peak early on and never again quite hit the heights it reached in this episode (though the troll episode was close). "Dethwater" is pretty coherent plot-wise, which some of the other episodes really can't claim. There are also just a ton of hilarious lines, plus Toki's "underwater friends" scene. And the music is really good (though it is consistently good throughout the series)! I did have to take off a point for the totally unnecessary gross-out gag involving Murderface. Gross isn't funny in itself, and the scene offered nothing more. But even with that, I can watch this episode again and again, and in fact have done.

Awesome!!!

"Dethklok is amazing! They're kicking ass and taking names!" This has got to be the most hilarious show ever! Everybody who is into death metal will absolutely become addicted to this show! Metalocalypse parodies metal band members and fans in the most true to life ways and there are all kinds of references throughout the shows that any true metal head will understand and appreciate. Even if you have no idea what death metal is, watch this show, it's so funny!!! The music is great and might even make a metaller out of you! I'm looking forward to the DVD and hope that there will be a CD of the soundtrack. I'm learning all the songs on my bass as soon as I get it! Here's to many more seasons of Metalocalypse!

Warning: Spoilers
Not sure if this is the show for me. The producer in the show was like an Andy Dick character, which really isn't working for anyone, as Andy Dick is awful. Again Murderface is disgusting, and to the point where I don't want to watch anymore. I really hope he tones down in the further episodes. The gore in this episode is over the top from the very beginning, with the front man destroying all of the band in a video. It's incredible that this was aired on TV, but I may be watching the uncensored version. Still has a few funny parts in the show, and the run time isn't too lengthy so I can probably last a season or two to give it a chance to sober up a bit and win me over.
