Incredible range of emotions for a 17 minute film-Excellent !

Warning: Spoilers
This film from first-time director Brent Nelsen and writer/producer/actor Bill McAdams, Jr. represents a stellar effort in minimalistic, emotive drama. Just as important as what is said is what is left unsaid, yet brilliantly implied. McAdams does a fine job of conveying the desperate grief, guilt and despair of significant loss, and will make you look at "street people" in a new light. As a writer, McAdams is sparse, yet gives his audience credit for their intelligence and discernment. Fewer words have a stronger impact.

First-time director Brent Nelsen has made a winning debut. Carefully crafted and wisely understated, Nelsen lets the actors and the writing tell the story. Editing is crisp, and timing is spot-on. All-in-all, a terrific entry into film-making! Can't wait to see what's next from this talented duo...

A nice little independent film
planktonrules1 February 2009
This is the first directorial effort of Brent Nelsen and this film was written by and starred Bill McAdams Jr.. Jessica Sonneborn co-starred with McAdams. While McAdams and Sonneborn have some acting experience behind them, considering how young they are and the spotlight they are given, they do a very nice job with the material. This is helped by having nice evocative music and camera work to help set the mood.

The film begins with McAdams playing a homeless wanderer. You learn that following some accident, all he does is travel in a pointless desire to punish himself for his careless actions while drinking. Into this pitiful existence comes his old girlfriend (Sonneborn) to help him get some perspective and come to terms with himself. There's more to it than this, but I don't want to say more and ruin the film.

Overall, a nice little film showing skill and subtlety.
