Its 2024.. and this was actually a good start!

So yeah..I finally descided to give this show a chance and watch it! I feel like if you have to start watching it, 2024 is the year to do it!

The episode does not throw multiple things around with insane moments and tension, but it does give you a perfect idea of the show that you are watching, the premise and the main character!

Luffy feels like that character you have always known when he appears and he just has such a charming and infectious personality! You enjoy seeing him on screen! You get to know him, his goal and his powers and its presented to us so that when the episode ends.. we know exactly what we need to know about him!

The journey is set and you are excited for what comes next!

The action and animation is actually not bad for 1999 and it already feels unique for this show!

This show might be a 1000+ episodes long, but I feel like you should give at chance! It might be slow, but then the pay off only hits harder later!

I am definnetely going to finish this show!

This was fun filled. Great Start for the anime. I hope I finish One Piece fully. Having all elements for an adventure pirate story. Hope it gets better...

A pretty good start

This is a solid first episode but their's really nothing special about it. Avodart, Coby, and of course Monkey D Luffy are introduced in this episode. Not much of Luffy's character is revealed except he is an ambitious person and inspires those around him. Nami is also here but she just kinda creeps around in the background the whole episode. Like is said its a good start but knowing what comes after it's not that good. Of course this show has top notch character design Alvida being one of my favorite and I kinda wish they kept fat alvida because she has more personality. The slapstick highjinks are fun. It's a fun episode but it's definitely not one that I'll revisit on other rewatches.

Beginning of the end of anime

This is the first episode of the greatest anime of all time. After watching One Piece, I've started to judge other anime keeping this as the normal standard and because of that, naturally I don't enjoy most of the other shows now. Other shows don't have the depth as this. This is Oda's work of a lifetime. Show some respect even if you don't want to watch it.

1000+ episodes might be too long but it's worth the time. First episode might not be a banger. One Piece is not a show that hooks you up in episode 1 and then gradually loses the shine. It eventually gets better and better. You have to climb the mountain and reach the peak to see everything. See it for yourself before judging this masterpiece.

Amazing Entrance

I'm watching ONE PIECE after more than 100 Anime because I loved Naruto Once and my friends generally criticize One Piece and trolls it. But one day out of nowhere I saw One piece, it's popularity is still amazed me even after more than 1k episodes so started to watch alone. Now, ONE PIECE IS IN THE TOP LIST AMD MY FAVOURITE OF ALL TIME ANIME. I never imagined this could be that better in almost every way. Now, I just want more and more of it. Even 1k more episodes aren't enough. Who say OP can understand me.

My wish is EVERY ONE SHOULD WATCH ONE PIECE. It has everything better no the Best of the century. Once you get on track trust me it'll be your favourite Anime and MANGA.

The beginning of something big

Okay maybe this Episode isn't a 10/10 but it's the beginning of the greatest anime adventure of all time (in my opinion)! For sure the anime got some problems for example the slow pacing and the bad animation (don't get me wrong the manga is well drawn). But this doesn't stop this anime from being my favorite. And hands down luffy is the greatest.

The Journey Begins

In this first episode we are introduced to the main character who is Monkey D. Luffy who is known as Luffy, is also presented to us the fundamentals of the story of One Piece through the opening intro, in this case the opening, which is the search for the treasure called One Piece that takes the name of the animation and familiarizing us with this new universe that begins the journey of the great "Age of Pirates" who are looking for this treasure, which our protagonist is also looking for.

Immediately his personality reminded me a lot of Son Goku of the Classic Dragon Ball, even that giggle that Goku always gave in some situation that felt very clever or strong, even that scratchy nose that Luffy does too. Then it immediately captivated me because the character resembled Goku taking me on a wave of Classic Dragon Ball nostalgia.

The animation is very fluid, colorful and dynamic, its narrative is very simple and fun having a very good rhythm as well as the tone of the comedy that were just right, I have nothing to complain about this first episode so to speak.

I think the only thing that differentiates or differentiates One Piece from other anime is their characters, because well, they are totally caricatures, what I mean is that the characterizations of the characters are unique and this makes this animation a very big differential with the others and that defines it as something unique where you understand why the anime is still in development.

In this first episode we had a peculiar character that is Coby, why peculiar? Well, see this character is basically used to show us perfectly how Luffy's personality is striking and strong. This causes us to begin to like and understand this character through their convictions. Even because the narrative shows us Coby as a coward who through Luffy ends up being inspired and encouraged to face his fears and also want to pursue his dreams.

One Piece through this first episode entices you to want to follow the anime even for the questions that remain unanswered, because we only have 20 minutes right? so it entices you to want to know more about this universe that is presented to us, such as the mention of "Devil's Fruit" which gave Luffy the ability to stretch like a rubber. And also the question, who is the red-haired thief? It is kind of obvious that she will be one of Luffy's colleagues on her journey as she appears both at the opening and closing of the anime, along with such Zoro the Pirate Hunter who is mentioned at the end of the episode.

In parallel I also went to read the Manga for comparison, but the first episode of the anime deals only with Chapter 2 of the manga which is titled - "Luffy Straw Hat". And why the anime didn't address his origin story in the first episode like Chapter 1 in the manga is unknown to me.

There are some differences between this chapter and the anime episode. Like for example:

1. In the manga, the scene was on an island, but in the anime, it was on a ship in the middle of the ocean that is being attacked by pirate Alvina, who was the antagonist in both media.

2. The girl with red hair does not even appear in the manga, but is presented only in the anime.

3. In the manga, Coby shows Luffy a boat he built for 2 years to escape Alvida. This is not shown in the anime. However, in the place of this scene is added the conversation in the hold of the ship when Luffy is eating the apples.

The differences are not so exorbitant but do not hinder the viewer's experience. Overall is a good start of anime.

Best Anime Ever and best characters Luffy and Zoro and Nami Sanji etc, i rated this episode for 10/10 because its my favourite anime and Luffy is my best character in this anime and whole animes after him come Roronoa Zoro.
