I recently bought a DVD from Alpha Video called "Great Old Short Subjects". And, it's obvious that Alpha considers ANYTHING in the public domain to be great after seeing this film! There is nothing--absolutely NOTHING good about this film and I cannot see any sane person enjoying this film! Seriously! The film consists of Al Shayne singing while he's accompanied by the marimba (an instrument a bit like a xylophone). You don't see Shayne--you hear him as you see lame footage of some guys taking a boat out on the river or lake. None of it is the least bit compelling--unless you adore boredom! And, to make it even more wonderful, there is a poem--YEE-HAW (pardon the sarcasm)!! Even back in the old days, folks must have thought this was pretty dreadful. And, sadly, MORE of these singing poetry-laden shorts are included on the DVD....ugghh!! Don't say I didn't warn you!
