Incredible "Gem" of the good Greek cinema
r-fronimides18 November 2016
The film made 3 years after the Greek military dictatorship's fall, after the dramatic events of the "Athens Polytechnic School" Uprising - and the bloodbath end of it, in the early morning hours of Saturday 17th November 1973...

...Therefore, the film is very emotional, very "hard" to watch it - especially if you are Greek and mostly if you WAS BORN during the Greek military dictatorship and you had knowledge (from known mates, friends, neighbors they had been tortured by the Greek junta). The film demonstrates, the cruel and inhuman ways, that the Greek Military Police were training the "newbies" troops, to become the next wave of the "ESA-tzides" ("Military-Policemen") - from the words "Elleniki Stratiotiki Astynomia" ("Hellenic Military Police"). Truly, even if the directing of the film is not the very best it could, even if the "photography" of the film isn't so great (remember, Greek cinema, at it's "born" of it, around '70s), the film is absolutely amazing!!! VERY-VERY REALISTIC, very-very real - if you search a bit, there are former-torturers' statements in law-court, saying EXACTLY these things you're watching in the film...

...This film is like a Greek version of the movie "Midnight Express".

I'm giving "8", because the average quality of the production, the picture, etc. Otherwise, is a "10-gem".

I received a copy of this documentary from Jørgen Flindt Pedersen, in 2008, when he visited our country together with Manfred Nowak.

This is a very good documentary and it's good o be used as training material, as we do at RCTV Memoria. In Moldova we used this documentary in the training of various professionals - prosecutors, lawyers, forensic doctors, medical doctors, psychologists, social workers and other relevant and interested people. I'm very interested to know much more about the fate of the Michalis Petrou.
