Great and sad start of the season!

Warning: Spoilers
The first episode was great and sad at the same time.

I really had the bad feeling that someone of the main cast will die... And I'm so angry because that's exactly what happened here...

That memorial for Otis was heartbreakingly beautiful. He was so nice, funny and sooo brave and awesome human! Otis we are going to miss you! Great job Brian Zvonecek ♥

I love all the cast. They are amazing! Acting was great, the friendship was real. ♥ You truly could feel their sadness...

Can't wait to see the next episodes!

Dear Showrunners/writers ("they")

I hate you.

I loved the character of Otis. After I watched the episode (and cried, yup, I'm one of those sad types) I went to find out why Yuriy Sardarov left the show. Like Lauren German he didn't want to leave, but both times "they" decided a major character needed to die. Yet people who want to, and do leave like Monica Raymund get open endings so they can return. Feels like loyalty doesn't count for much with these Showrunners.

Great episode though.

Yuriy Sardarov and Joe Minoso were brilliant in this episode, Sacred Ground.

The friendship they have shared has been one of my favourite interactions and storylines since Season 1.

Minoso (Joe Cruz) portrayed devastation, grief, and loss, SOOO incredibly well, and I can honestly say that their "last words" scene is now one of my all time favourite death scenes of any show or movie I've seen.

Sardarov (Otis) was absolutely brilliant uttering those final words, and him saying them in Russian made the whole scene so much more heartfelt, compelling, and impactful. It was so beautiful and so sad.

You could really feel Joe's unmeasurable heartache in each and every one of his scenes in this one.

Absolutely loved it!

FINALLY!! That idiot Otis is gone!! Woooooooo!!! Good riddance you smarmy b@st@rd! I thought end of the last season he'd be gone. But nooooo they had to bring his passive aggressive a** back for another season.

Good luck to the actor. But the character being killed off was a series highlight for me!

Good solid beginning

A good beginning to this eighth season. All the things that make this series work, are in play: fire drama, personal relationships, teammates walking through hard times with each other. Great ensemble cast. I give this series a solid 7 (good) out of 10. {Fire Fighter Drama}
