Interesting movie, but still a negative image of Africa
rinuspro19 April 2009
It is a beautiful movie and it shows the culture in Burkina Faso and the difference between the villages and the capital city. The life in the villages is still primitive and in the capital city called Ouagadougou is the university and a modern life. This is the source of the conflict between Djanta and her father. Her father is married to more than one wife polygamy indeed still exist and is widely accepted in West Africa. The women in the village are not free to choose their husbands neither. It is the head of the family in this case her father who finds a husband for Djanta on a day that she returns to visit her village of birth.

I liked the film, but it still give a negative image of this wonderful country.

A must see for those who want to visit West Africa in general
