I expect you to do what is necessary.

The opening scene portrays Samantha's arrival in Japan as a demure 21 year old Christian missionary working as an English teacher. We further learn why her past haunts her and its potential consequences, driving her to take risks.

Jake's double misreading of honour code has dire consequences, saddling him with unquenchable guilt. The second consecutive episode where the foreigners misunderstand Japanese cultural norms lending depth and credibility to the story.

An excellent episode, the best to-date.

Best Episode

The 5th episode seems to be the charm. Everybody Pays is paced well for the episode's hour-long duration, and even though the beats are predictable it was still a solid episode. Hopefully the last few episodes keep up the pace and Tokyo Vice can end on a high note.

Character development, top acting and a quick-paced momentum. Really a good one, l could have gone for 8 but because of one or two unnecessary scenes I think 7 is satisfying.

Lovely

The work of the director Hikari is simply amazing. Against the background of the previous series, it blows the roof with the number of plot twists, the development of character relationships. I would really like to see a full-fledged TV series or movie under her leadership.

Cherry Blossom Special

A better episode than the last one. This one had a taught edge. Excellent direction. We also saw more of Ken Watanabe. The random strings of the last episode pulled together in this one.

Samantha (Rachel Keller) is writing checks she cannot cash. She is in way over her head, but thinks she can control it.

Jake is an interesting character who is wildly miscast in Ansel Elgort.

External forces (Tozawa) appear to have made Sato's decision for him.
