Half the fun that 'flip or flop' ever was
grlym-468495 November 2021
First and foremost, I like the show because he still at least walks through the flip process

I watch all their post divorce shows for the same reason I watched flip it flop...I like the dump to paradise transformation. However I usually skip 90% of Christina's episodes to the end, because I hate the social media drama. I only came for the flips and their inate host charm. Most if her shoe is now about boogie rich friends who throw her a bone to remodel their house so she has a show

Unfortunately, Tarek also does this social media crap. Just less. Tbh, I can't stand his plasticy nee wife who looks like a lesser carbon copy of his old wife. I only care about the flips

Why does all of hdtv no longer show real builds and tips. It's all garbage now. Every show is unrealistic makeovers that solely feed social media celebrity fetish's and hdtv magazine photo shoots. I'll keep watching if tarek keeps at least where he is at now. I can just fast forward thru all the wife and $6m house struggles.

Ps. Never loved the coverage of his kids. I came here for house stuff. But it's now obnoxious to see these kids in their spoiled flavor. And She very one on screen can't see it and things it's adorable. Not realizing the audience is laughing at them all.

Updated Review

I was a big fan of the original "Flip or Flop" with Tarek and Christina, but was pretty doubtful about this show. After watching most episodes, I have to admit that I have mixed feelings.

As a former IT software development manager and certified project manager, most of the advice Tarek provides is excellent. Multitasking, pushing contractors hard, negotiating costs and change orders and setting firm delivery dates with penalties is great advice. Perhaps it's my background, but this seems like common sense to me.

Unfortunately, most of the flippers on this show don't seem to have a clue. They don't listen to Tarek, they make major unplanned changes without considering the implications and none of them seem to be able to keep contractors in line.

Perhaps this is the intent of the show. Unfortunately, I think it often comes across as new flippers are incompetent, headstrong morons that think they know better than a highly experienced professional.

I know that HGTV has to make the show interesting, but I think the underlying vibe is that most new flippers are idiots. This is just my opinion.

Nonetheless, I still enjoy the show. Tarek is a skilled leader and mentor, and his advice is amazing. I'll continue to watch and see how the show progresses.

Educational but
The show is educational but Tarek by himself is a bit ruff to watch. I don't know if it's the way it's produced but, Tarek is a bit of an a**hole in this show. It's like he got a little too big for his britches. Without Christina to balance him out and bring that comedy, the show is severely lacking.

This is Tarek el Moussa and so many people worked so hard to make this show happen! This show went from a dream, to a reality, to a success! I'm so grateful for everyone, including the fans, that made this show happen🙏🙏🙏 I hope you all enjoy the rest of the series!! I promise... You won't be disappointed!

Funny, entertaining and educational
nickyangel-220519 March 2020
Finally a show with an educational premise to help hopeful flippers learn the rules of the game. Not only is it educational, it is also entertaining and funny. The ongoing back and forth between the rookie flippers and Tarek El Moussa is so unexpected at times that you can't help but laugh. People will be people: always so unpredictable. I can't wait to watch the second episode. I highly recommend it. You won't be disappointed. 🤗

Interesting watch but...
emmacecilia-3027323 July 2020
I think this show is really fascinating and super educational. But I feel as though Tarek could be more involved. He leaves this unexperienced flippers alone and then comes back to yell at them for making bad decisions way too late when, if he checked in, he could've helped them avoid it. It feels like it could be done in a more productive and proactive way.

Too much personal life
andreaperry-2013222 October 2021
I really enjoy watching Tarek 101. The only thing that I didn't like was too much personal with him and heather. It seems like he is bring her in way too much and it takes away from the show of renovations and working with the flippers.

I love Tarek and his shows, but...
jeersNcheers12 November 2021
I'm a big fan of Tarek and Flip or Flop and Flipping 101. But I'm annoyed that Heather is on the show more and more. She adds nothing to the show and seems like a hanger-on.

Loved The Old Show! This One Is Kinda Blah Though. UPDATE: Oct 2021
collectorofsorts24 May 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Basically, it's a generic flipping show with a few visits and phone calls from Tarek. That's not to say that I don't enjoy it. It's an okay watch and I plan on watching the full season. But, I do tend to use the fast forward button when watching it. Sorry, Tarek. I'm a big fan and I love watching you on the old flipping show. Your story of rags to riches give us everyday Joe's and Jane's hope. But, this one just doesn't have the heart or warmth of the old show. I can't do like the others have done here and give a 10 Star just because I'm a fan or just because I know you follow the page. I have to rate it based on what I see. Sorry. UPDATE: Season 2 is better than season 1. More warmth and more of the old Tarek. A little too much personal stuff stuff though. The show is called "Flipping 101" and not 'Tarek's Personal Life'. PS: I don't think Tarek is arrogant like others have mentioned. He's always seemed like an 'everyday Joe' beer and a burger type of guy.

A review from someone not associated with the show
rawgen5 August 2020
I can't believe any of the reviews for this show are actually real. This show is nothing more than a platform for Tarek el Moussa to display his arrogant condescending attitude toward the unfortunate people that seek his help and advise. He acts superior rather than helpful toward the guests on the show and scoffs at their ignorance. He basically just makes fun of them while trying to show off what a superior flipper he is. Of course he has more knowledge than they do because he's been doing it a long time and most of these people are just starting. Try a little kindness rather than being such a jerk.

Good and Fast Moving
dredmart24 October 2021
I like this show a lot. Some HGTV shows (in particular House Hunters Intl) have 10 minutes of action in the 30 minutes. Flipping 101 feels like it has an hour of content in 30 minutes. The show really moves along. I have no interest in flipping but many of the lessons in the show can be applied to doing a house renovation.

Such a dangerous concept but I watch, I don't believe the show uses real costs for the rehabs, and there is a lot of phoney things.
ucfscott4 March 2021
Some of these people seem to use credit cards, most give up their jobs, don't look like they ever saw a flipping show in their life. Have never down physical labor. No matter how underwater they are they all make a profit at the end. I think one show at the end said the house sold then fell through but no update and was considered a success.

Just like flip or flop, you never see flops, has anyone out there tried to hire contracters to do a simple job? For instance I got bids on replacing a 4x6 foot piece of drywall no texture, the contactors wanted $800 one guy after I said your too expensive said $500 I told him to take a walk. I did it for $10. The prices quoted in these shows for work are unrealistic.

10k for a roof how many decades ago does that price sound like. Show us real costs for example for2x4s now adays. Repairing a small roof damage would have cost me at least $1000 not a couple $100

super interesting show
megagolfeur9 March 2020
I'm a big fan of real estate, (despite my young age) and I take every chance I have to acquire tips for flipping properties and investing, naturally I watch a lot of HGTV.I absolutely enjoyed Tarek new show. It is clever, well made and a great focus on what to be done/ what to be avoided in the flipping world. I had the chance to meet Tarek a few years ago through common friends, and he was such a cool guy. This review is not affiliated to Tarek, just wanted to add that on top of being a clever investor and business man he was also a very classy and friendly guy. Maxence Leyniers

Up your involvement with your flippers.
kbittle-9587229 October 2021
Enjoyed the show until it became about bringing in girlfriend/fiance Heather. It is not her show, and like the wife of Drew Scott, they don't belong on camera. Tarek could do with a little more screen time with the flippers. He shouldn't disappear so much.

Educational and realistic

Real people in real situations taking advice from a professional. Most of the time! Great show with novice house flippers making mistakes and good decisions and we get to watch along with them.

Don't like this show
susan-11487-5591829 October 2021
I feel sorry for the flippers who invite Tareki to criticize what they're doing. I do think he has good ideas but I don't like how the show seems to denigrate the flippers. Not a fan.

Just a revision of other HGTV shows
regimcq8 September 2021
Not sure I'm onboard yet. What I don't get is why people think that Tarek making a few appearances on his own show is something special. Basically, they are finding people who are already in trouble, he comes along and save the day with a few visits and a few phone calls. Each show is the exact same, giving the exact same advice. I'm not sure what people see in this show or him. He comes across as arrogant, rude and condescending in all of his shows. Oh well to each their own. Good Luck anyway.

This show is such a refreshment after watching some of the other stale HGTV shows as of late! I love that Tarek is own his own, helping others and sharing his expertise. Very good!

Really enjoyable twist on home flipping shows
emilyannegriffin3 May 2023
After a while, the traditional home flipping shows can get repetitive. Flipping 101 adds a fun, new dynamic to the flipping episodes we all know and love. As the novice flippers make awful decisions, it adds an element of drama, while still being focused on home renovations (unlike shows such as Christina on the Coast). Tarek has great insight and advice that is interesting and informative, and impressively keeps his cool even when newbie flippers blatantly refuse to heed his expert advice. Definitely worth checking out, especially if you're considering flipping yourself, as this is a great way to learn from other people's mistakes. Worth a watch!

Am I the only one that find most of this flippers Tarek helps disgusting?

I like Tarek, I like the concept but these flippers he is helping are disgusting. For instance I am watching the episode with the 2 dancers as flippers. Cocky as all can be somehow can afford a 2 million plus flip. They are clueless. The disgusting thing no matter how clueless they make money. It sucks so far only the 19 year was halfway decent.

Great show
pmmontelongo20 March 2020
Thank you Tarek for a great show. You give solid advice helping people who are flipping for the first time. I like how you give guidance in a positive way. And you are realistic when you give advice regarding the cost of a flip. I will continue to watch your show as I have learned so much from you. Thank you for all you do!

Disappointed
margineanvaleria24 January 2022
Nothing special about this show, he is too full of his own thoughts and ideas, there is nowone that could challenge him and the show. Really boring, I was hoping for more from this show.
