Intensly Boring Horror

A group of teens brutalizes and kills a young couple on Prom night only to have them return to exact revenge 10 years later.

This movie comes across as a student film. It is predictable, made on the cheap and every character is shallow.

The plot is derivative of 80's horror movies, and the dialogue doesn't seem plot related at all - it purely exists to string together the very brief slasher scenes There is no cinematic tension, and the synthesizer score really grates after only a few minutes.

Compared to other really low budget horrors, I guess at least the acting was on par, but that wasn't enough to save this film.

I have to say I wasn't expecting a lot from this movie, and it delivered nothing in spades.

Save your money and more importantly your time by not watching.

Seriously now...One of the WORST horror films EVER!

It's simply a waist of time. Poor acting and pathetic directing makes this movie definitely one of the most awful movies I have ever seen. This movie is plainly a poor imitation of 'I know what you did last summer', nothing more! Trust me, I am not trying to 'damage' the movie in any way, all I am trying to do is to help you save your time. The movie starts relatively OK (for the first 3 minutes or so). As soon as time goes by it takes a steep downfall. The actors are a bunch of amateurs and that is clearly obvious. Not only I was not scared, but there were times I couldn't stop laughing. Sorry about my bad comments, but I've seen a lot of movies; and this is definitely one of my most unpleasant ones.

Save your time and money!

This is obviously is very bad movie no doubt about it. Bad acting , very bad directing , poor script ,....

Considering the budget of movie i didn't expect more of this movie. The story of this movie also very stereotype : Five guys accomplish to murder of two of their high school friends in prom night and after ten years their ghosts seeking for revenge.

The ending of movie was also very bad , Are we suppose to believe that ghost are real? I wish the movie didn't end so badly. Save your time and don't watch this movie.

Hilariously Awful!

Christ almighty, this movie is an absolute waste of time. And I only watched a few minutes! The script is appallingly bad ("There's more to him than sex, Jake!" Well done), the actors are useless, the directing is plain. It was just awful. I feel partly sorry for the actors having to endure the script and I'm sure even Two and a Half Men would be a more witty read. I got so bored of listening to Kevin and Rose blathering on about how she was shallow and switched it off. There isn't much else to comment on except for the rape scene which made me laugh uncontrollably. Now, I'm sorry to be harsh but, frankly, the director/writer should just stop while they're behind. I would recommend it to... no one.

Good Cure For Insomnia

First of all, I gotta say, movies that start with this setup of friends conspiring to cover up an accident or, in this case, a murder, are hard for me to get in to to begin with. Usually, in a slasher, you need at least one character you can sympathize with. With this set up, I have no one to feel sorry for because, as far as I'm concerned, they all deserve what they get. At least Prom Night and I Know What You Did Last Summer had a fairly decent story and some good shocks to keep the movie moving. This unfortunately did not. What we had here was a poorly shot, very amateur film. In the night time scenes, you can't see a damn thing! Then there was the acting. They all seemed to be reading this off cue cards for the first time, no emotion. Then we had a real gem when the "forensic expert" who was talking to the ridiculously portrayed detectives. She actually said the following: "The victim was then drug over here." DRUG! No one gets DRUG, they get dragged. Any possible suspension of disbelief I had managed to build up to this point went out the window the minute my inner Grammar Nazi said, "WTF?".

Overall just a really poor film which truly deserves a lower IMDb rating than it possesses. If you're having trouble falling asleep, pop this one in, it'll do the trick.

Not a great movie but worth watching

I watch a lot of movies. I like older Cult Classic movies best. In the Tomb of Terrors Set there is one good movie per disc and 3 of the most unwatchable movies of all time per disc. This Rose of Death is one of the good ones. This plain and simple film has many jump out scares, some creepiness and tense scenes. I watched the whole film and my main complaint is that even though I didn't expect much It was always very predictable.

Boring supernatural revenge

Rose of Death finishes disc 8 of the Tomb of Terrors box set as the longest (99 minutes) and "best" film on it. I'm not watching the films on this 50 movie box set in any sort of order though I'm leaning towards watching the shorter (and hopefully less punishing) ones first. This is the first well made (for a very very low budget) film on that disc. It starts out well with a disturbing beat down/murder and rape of a girl in front of the new girlfriend. Then dispatching her because she witnessed the beat down turned murder. This part of the film is well done and the acting decent and suitably intense, unfortunately like most of the film it's way too dark. About 20 minutes in we jump to the present day when these lowlifes are out of high school and it turns into a supernatural revenge from the grave slasher. It also turns into a police procedural and is mostly boring and predictable from this point on. There's a handful of decent kills including a severed head in a bathroom with the head being found in the toilet and some knifings. Better made and acted than most super low budget films but also kind of boring. If this had been tighter (80 minutes or so) with better lighting and some better kills it could have been a winner.

Good horror film

Good horror film Very good thriller even if it reminded me many other films and scripts that has circulated at the past like the "I know what you did last summer" and other films that bases their script in a story of revenge. Here it is about a couple of young teenagers who are killed from the girl's ex-boyfriend and his friends for jealousy purposes. Many years later the dead couple will get revenge for their death with a strange and torturing way for the people who involved in this tragedy. Usual but very nice script for a revenge story where the director succeed to create a scary atmosphere and force you to wait and see the next move
