The Old Gang in the Old West

The largely Antepodean-pretending-to-be-English cast of The Lost World is now Antepodean-pretending-to-be-English-pretending-to-be-old-west-American.

Finding a hangman's noose in the jungle and a tombstone saying "J Roxton 1875" Roxton is transported to an old west populated by the rest of the ensemble cast.

One might think American Jennifer O'Dell would have an advantage accent-wise but she's not known for her skill with accents (hear her attempt at Cockeysville English-English in "The Knife" if you dare). Instead, her accent comes and goes.

Still, it was a good attempt at keeping the series fresh. You have to admire that. But not until the introduction of Finn would they have stopped the show's third-season slide into tedium.

Still, it's a worthier entry in the series than the silly Jack the Ripper stuff. Australia makes a good substitute for the western US.
