Love it...

Julianne Moore is one hell of a beautiful human acting, I liked her so much , it relieves me just seeing her face while talking, real dope, the show is holding up, but it's a bit like a overwhelming maze, till now I'm Optimism about the show , it's an interesting story and good actors in consideration, it's just ready to go and I'm all ready for waiting.

You'd call the police, wouldn't you?

Two characters in this episode would have called the police if they were real people. I guess the show wouldn't exist if they did. There would be no mystery. Does it show how thin the plot is?

Slow Very Slow
GoldenGooner0423 August 2022
I like Clive Owen, always have from when he done these cool car ads, playing a Secret Agent character, and was up for him being Bond. He wanted it badly. But as we know the Brilliant Daniel Craig got the gig. And it will never be the same again But back to Mr Owen, he had the right hump played a stupid 007 character in the pink panther. Which was dire But I did love him in The Inside Man, now that was a brilliant film, but since then what has he done?

Now this series has had a lot of money thrown at it with a Top Cast, but that's it. It has No Life, it's so slow.

Magic Realism
I haven't read this book, but this story has caught my attention. Thus far, the cinematography and directing looks on point. Acting performances really is stellar. Lots of surrealism and Gabriel José García Márquez style "magic realism". Right now, the story seems a bit cryptic to me but its beginning to resemble another horror film I have seen in the past with a supernatural pool. I just can't remember the name of that other film at the moment. Hopefully, Stephen King and director Pablo Larraín make it work. Few of King's adaptations on film and tv have really lived up to their source materials. Perhaps this one might. Fingers crossed.

Looking forward toward the rest of the season.

I was let down by the premiere
thomaspiperis8 June 2021
The most disappointing first episode i have watched in a long time. Slow, disconnected, no hints of terror. Fails miserably to engage. The viewer.

It Looks like I won't be staying for the rest of the series...

Steven King is Back!!!!!
moviesfilmsreviewsinc19 January 2022
Episode 1 of Lisey's Story begins with a woman swinging. This seemingly innocent scene is undermined by an ominous bite of text confirming that every marriage holds secrets. Well, the marriage in question here is between award-winning writer Scott Landon and his wife Lisey. Scott is listed as a national treasure and prepares to accept an award during flashbacked moments interspersed throughout the episode. A crazed gunman shows up at his conference and shoots Scott in cold blood. Lisey grabs a shovel and swipes at the man, leaving a nasty gash across his face. Scott survives the blast though, while this gunman eerily claims that Scott "stole his mind". In true Stephen King fashion, Lisey's story gets off to a suitably weird and eerie start, with a mystery involving Lisey's deceased husband Scott and seemingly mind control too. It seems like Scott may have actually hidden his secrets within the papers, and the unpublished stories may be the "Stolen" memories Scott's shooter mentioned.

However, the visions and numerous eerie occurrences really lend themselves to the hallmarks of other King stories we've seen adapted to the small screen. There are echoes of The Outsider and Castle Rock here, feeding into an enticing mystery and a pretty artistic one at that. This is a serious slow burn though and with lots being hidden beneath the hood, Lisey's Story bows out with a suitably ominous ending. As the episode closes out, Lisey thinks back to her husband's manuscripts and believes the secrets and clues she seeks may well be lying there. This eight-part Apple TV+ limited series is based on the 2006 Stephen King novel. Suggested by some to be an ode to King's wife and fellow author Tabitha King, the horror master has called this blend of romance and psychology horror his favorite among his works.
