The Nerdvana Annihilation (#1.14)

The time machine is a fun story. I am just very surprised that Howard and Raj wanted to have it at their house as well right after going through the trouble of moving it up the stairs. It was already funny then. And them playing with that time machine was just cute!

The Nerdmabelia Scattering is another funny episode of "The Big Bang Theory"
tavm30 April 2008
Warning: Spoilers
Leonard has bid $800 on a "minature" time machine prop from the actual movie The Time Machine from 1960. With Sheldon, Howard, and Raj watching along, they all expect someone to bid higher from there. But with only 15 seconds left on the computer, no one has making Leonard the only bidder and winner of the item. Sheldon wonders out loud why no one bid more. When the giant prop appears in the lobby, he understands. As they struggle to move it downstairs, Penny walks by and is upset because she's late for work. Sheldon suggests jumping roof to roof which Penny takes seriously though she has her doubts. Leonard sits down in his machine and pretends to go to a "Star Trek" star date to get a cloaking device to visit Alexander Graham Bell's date of inventing the telephone inconspicuously. As he's doing this, the others dance around like they're in speeded-film mode! Penny then arrives-looking messed up-and complains about being stuck with a family who tries to pass their son as a potential husband. She then looks at the time machine and tells them to grow up. Only Leonard, who's long had a crush on Penny, considers just that as he offers to sell many of his collectibles to the comic book shop to the consternation of his three friends who all bid on his items especially the recent time machine. When he next encounters her, Penny actually thinks Leonard is pretty charming with his items though she's glad he's attempting to be more "normal" too. As she plants a small kiss on him, Leonard seems to think he has a chance with her before a muscled man arrives to pick Penny for a date. As she accepts, the others go back to playing with the time machine...Not as funny as previous ones but there are some highlights that still make "The Big Bang Theory" one of the more unusual sitcoms on television today. I loved the dream sequences like Leonard's taking Penny to work by opening the broken elevator and going down the pulley carrying her or Sheldon's nightmare of encountering Moorlocks while taking his turn on the time machine. Twice! Howard and Raj provide their own moments and, yes, that dance they did with Sheldon was deliriously funny! Once again, you rock, Chuck Lorre!

The Nerdvana Annihilation

After a couple of episodes that didn't live up to the promise of their potential this one is thankfully more complete, offering some lovely moments.

I wasn't keen on the dream sequences, but other than that this was great stuff.

Really sad to see Penny devolve and stoop so low to insult her friends like that. I really appreciate the overarching message of this episode. Remain true to yourself.

One Of The Last Good Episodes
bcrd50029 June 2016
Warning: Spoilers
This episode represents how good the show could be if it maintained the original concept of a hapless Leonard hoping for a romantic relationship with Penny.

The strong points are how a smart guy failed to understand what he was buying on EBAY. Second, Penny issues a tongue lashing about the total nerd world created by the guys.

However, a fore-warning of things to come reared its head when Penny back-tracked on her blow-up and gave Leonard hope for a future with Penny.

Eventually, the show's writers decided to make Penny and Leonard a couple, which led to the totally unfunny show it has become.

Love That Machine

I was so pleased with The Time Machine with Rod Taylor as the traveller. The time machine itself is just plain awesome. Here the boys manage to buy a full size replica of the movie machine. But they are chastised by Penny for their immaturity and childishness. Leonard takes this really hard. Still, there are great dream sequences and delightful byplay among the guys.

Mike was a highlight

Loved seeing Andrew Walker on prime time TV! He does a lot of Hallmark movies, but I enjoy watching him in a well known comedy like BBT! He's a talented, likeable actor, & he's Canadian! Kudos!
