Seriously its kind of sad that bot enough people watch this show its brilliant and satisfying television its very weird but in its own unique way and its works. Anyway on to the episode; now that was an ending, very shocked and very excited for the next one. The opening scenes were also great. Morrissey is always brilliant in this and the new character of Hemple is weird but I'm interested to see what comes next.

Backstory that makes no sense

Why did they write in Hemple this way? So lazy and makes zero sense with seasons 1 & 2. Hate when writers shoe horn an actor in and now the entire series up to this point looks stupid and poorly acted. Do your job better.
Absolutely bonkers!

What a joke

Well, I loved the first two seasons - series had its ups and downs but was enjoyable(lol?) to watch. First episode of the third series was the last one I will ever watch and regret actually touching it. Hemple and her Black Panthers absolutely killed it for me...not even gonna touch on their eating habits...
It is time to stop hoping this gets better

It won't. Seems they decided to copy/paste in a new character because there wasn't already enough mysticism(?).
I did want to know what came next. Obviously a third season was needed at the end of season two. It was warranted given the story threads. If for no other reason that to get the story about how Cait and Aulus play out.
I think they decided that conflict between Cait and Aulus was going to wind up as a big nothing. Shame really, it seemed to be developing well.
Obviously the writers have more information on all this than me because they bailed and brought in a character that is simply despicable on every level. Aulus was handling the tension for the series well. They had the chance to complete something in a series that shows all the signs it won't get another season after this.
I base this on one episode of season 3 of course but it also seems the individual episode ratings are going down with the worst the last.

Repetitive and sloooow

A serious case of writer's block must be the reason for all the repetitive dream sequences and inability to move the plot forward.
At first I was upset with only 8 episodes this season, but now I see 8 episodes of this is longer than a lifetime.
