Kids Having Fun

I'm not exactly sure what country this film takes place in but it appears to take place somewhere foreign. As for the film itself, there's not much to see. The title tells us it's a group of children playing marbles but as we don't see the marbles themselves it's a bit hard to tell what's going on. In terms of story there's none at all but if you've seen other films from the era you'll find stuff like this was what was entertaining at the time. Film was a novelty and people were anxious to see ANYTHING that moved on screen. The reason these films remain watchable today is because they show us life from a long time ago. If you don't get that, then this short won't make much sense otherwise.

Enfants jouant aux billes (1896)

This Lumiere Brothers film has a group of boys playing marbles, which is exactly what the title tells you. Once again here's nothing ground-breaking here but if you're a fan of the Lumiere company or just a fan of actuality movies then you're bound to enjoy this one. There's some pretty entertaining stuff here but the majority of it comes from just being able to see a moment in time. It's pretty interesting just getting to see how kids kept themselves entertained back in 1896 as well as the type of clothing they wore. If you're a fan of these types of movies then this here is certainly worth watching.
