Multi-platinum emerging artist Stephen Sanchez has released his debut album, Angel Face. The 13-track album is filled to the brim with 50s and 60s-inspired love songs, including RIAA 3x Platinum Certified hit, “Until I Found You.” Along with the album, Stephen has released cinematic music videos for “Death Of The Troubadour” and “High,” directed by Charlie Rees.
Angel Face recounts the life of the fictional Stephen Sanchez aka ‘The Troubadour Sanchez’ – who finds fame based on his 1958 hit “Until I Found You,” shortly followed by a tumultuous romance with his newfound love Evangeline, with the album ending after his untimely murder in 1964. Almost 60 years later, The Troubadour’s unreleased debut album, Angel Face, has been uncovered and is finally being released posthumously.
Despite its old-school origins, the album boasts top-tier production from Ian Fitchuk [Kacey Musgraves, Leon Bridges] and Konrad Snyder [Noah Kahan, Rainbow Kitten Surprise]. Album track “No One Knows...

Track by Track is our recurring feature series in which artists guide readers through each song on their latest release. Today, New York City rocker Des Rocs give us insight into his sophomore album, Dream Machine.
Des Rocs, aka Danny Rocco, sports the silhouette of a young Elvis Presley, and his brand of self-described “bedroom arena rock” tugs at the rock ‘n’ roll of the past with the intent of making the present a bit more tolerable.
Fused with the wit of an artist forging his path in the competitive New York City circuit, his music transcends pastiche and is frankly refreshing. There’s tangible joy: bombastic chords, anthemic Queen-esque choruses, glam-metal swagger. In a gloomy world where many musicians are making gloomy music, Des Rocs sounds like the damn antidote.
“It’s 2:10 in the morning / I’m on the Bqe … Come on take a joy ride / In my dream machine.

Queens of the Stone Age launched their first North American headlining tour in five years on Thursday evening (August 3rd) at the Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre in Sterling Heights, Michigan.
The outing, dubbed “The End Is Nero Tour,” is broken up into in two legs, with this first one running through August 19th, and the second one launching on September 16th and wrapping up with an October 8th gig at the Aftershock festival in Sacramento, California. Tickets are available via Ticketmaster or StubHub.
Frontman Josh Homme recently said he’s disappointed when bands don’t play their hits, and he certainly didn’t let down Qotsa fans by kicking off the show with perhaps the band’s best-known song, “No One Knows.”
The 18-song set also included four songs off Qotsa’s new album, In Times New Roman…, alongside favorites like “My God Is the Sun,” “Little Sister,” and “Go With the Flow.

While it’s understandable that bands want to play the “new stuff” when they go out on tour, most fans still want to hear the hits. Count Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme among those who think music acts should perform their “big songs” in concert.
While appearing on the Tuna on Toast With Stryker podcast (as transcribed by Ultimate Classic Rock), Homme remarked, “I understand that I’m always going to play [Qotsa hit] ‘No One Knows’ because I still like playing that song and that’s something that it’s an agreement with the audience. I assume that this is a part of coming here to see us, and here you go.”
He continued, “When there’s bands that don’t want to play their big song or their big songs, I always think it’s a little c*nty to do that. Acting like a song that...

Queens of the Stone Age helped close out Glastonbury with a scorching career-spanning set on Sunday evening.
Over the course of their 15-song performance, Qotsa mixed greatest hits with material from their latest album, In Times New Roman… The setlist included songs like “Go With the Flow,” “The Lost Art of Keeping a Secret,” “Little Sister,” and “No One Knows,” plus new tracks “Paper Machete” and “Carnavoyeur.”
Early on in the set, frontman Josh Homme encouraged the Glastonbury crowd to “fuck shit up together… This is it motherfuckers. This is your last night!” Many fans responded in kind — especially during set closer “A Song for the Dead,” when a massive mosh pit broke out. (A special shout out to the guy in the brown shirt screen captured above.)
Additionally, Homme dedicated the band’s performance of “In the Fade” to frequent collaborator Mark Lanegan, who passed away last year.

The streaming landscape is as crowded as ever this week. Apple TV+ has a new series from the team behind "Gossip Girl," a murder mystery called "City on Fire." Netflix is bringing back the fab five for season 7(!) of "Queer Eye." Meanwhile, Pete Davidson is getting confessional in the semi-autobiographical comedy "Bupkis," and "Spider-Man: Homecoming" is finally swinging its way towards Disney+.
If you burn through "Queer Eye," make sure to check out "Getting Curious," which puts Jonathan Van Ness' sunny spin on the educational show format. "City on Fire" stars can also be spotted in recent cult favorite teens shows "Generation" and "I Am Not Okay With This."
Have you heard about the Writers Guild of America strike? Round out the week with some essential strike-related viewing: "Harlan County, U.S.A." is a classic documentary streaming on HBO Max, while the workplace sitcom "Superstore" adds comedy to a labor movement plotline.

Following an epic drum battle that went viral, Dave Grohl has written a theme song for his young superstar opponent, 10-year-old drummer Nandi Bushell.
Bushell, who has appeared on Ellen and regularly uploads videos to her 100,000-subscriber YouTube channel, first challenged the Foo Fighters frontman to the task last month, performing the drums to the band’s classic single “Everlong.” Grohl responded by performing Them Crooked Vultures’ “Dead End Friends,” which Bushell then matched beat for beat in a new video, causing Grohl to admit defeat. Up until last week, A24’s new David Lowery film The Green Knight was still on the schedule to hit theaters on May 29. That seemed very unlikely, what with the majority of movie theaters still closed, and sure enough, The Green Knight‘s release date is now being listed as Tba. So what now? Does A24 wait for […]

Obviously, the Covid-19 pandemic has wreaked havoc on the film industry, particularly the theatrical distribution side of things. And we’ve seen this with blockbusters that were scheduled to arrive in theaters being pushed until later this year or even into 2021. However, it’s not just blockbusters that are being affected, as was recently explained by filmmaker David Lowery.
In a new episode of The A24 Project podcast, the ‘Ghost Story’ filmmaker spoke about his upcoming release, “The Green Knight,” which has been greatly affected by the ongoing global pandemic.
