Jil overhears his former party leader Neeba talking about a plan to assassinate the king who had just arrived with the army to climb the tower. Mistakenly believing that brave Neeba is in on the plot, Jil goes to stop him.
Warrior lancer Ahmey and magic heeler Kaaya recruit Melt, a cowardly smug grumpy wizard, and his very young sweet smart and strong carrier and cook Coopa. They and Jil end up in jail as suspects for the assassination attempt.
A brave young and clumsy shield master Jil is the latest member of a band of adventurers who are trying to reach the top of the Tower of Druaga and slay its dark lord. However, young Jil turns out to be somewhat of a burden, literally.
While climbing the tower, Jil and his new party arrive at the labyrinth of an ancient magician who loved practical jokes and left plenty of surprises for the unwary adventurers. However, his ultimate challenge will be the toughest.
In a tribute to The Tower of Druaga (1984) video game this show is based on, Kaaya manipulates Jil into entering the ruins of the former smaller Tower of Druaga to reach the prize at its top. Ahmey helps out by reading a walk-through.
Jil is thrown out of the group for gross incompetence, so he returns to the human city located at the base of the tower to form a new adventuring party. A female healer and a female warrior join up after his less than inspiring speech.
The Gang helps an old adventurer who's looking for his long lost son. They arrive at another village in the tower. Coopa befriends a young thief who's trying to prove that his missing father is innocent of a theft.
