Not one of Campbell brothers' better efforts
movieman_kev8 August 2008
An anthology of six rather short stories about women being 'pushed to far' in Cleveland, Ohio (interspersed with faux footage of a doctor explain the 'female enigma). This seems to hearken back to those grind-house films of the '70's, but it plays out more like a parody of these films then anything else. Not a funny parody mind you as the humor is few and far between. And while this is the Campbell Brothers best looking film aesthetically, I personally still prefer some of their earlier efforts better. At even only little more then an hour long, I just found this one dragged on in too many places and became redundant to make it really worthy of recommending it to anyone.

My Grade: D

DVD Extras: Directors' Commentary; 9 minutes of scenes from the unfinished 2002 version; 3 music videos; 3 trailers for this film; "Cordoba Nights" preview trailer; and Trailers for "the Red Skull", "Demon Summer" & "Midnight Skater"

Sexist piece of trash
capelladewdrop25 October 2015
Warning: Spoilers
I thought I would give this movie a chance because I identified with the main character in that at age 17 I would often be in my own little world ignoring everything people said and not paying any particular attention to my life or future.

The special effects are appalling. Blood looks like red poster paint that kids use. The story occasionally cuts to some doctor giving a scientific lecture of how inferior women are to men. I don't know if this is a real lecture or not but that doctor is an idiot.

I completely understand why this movie is free to watch on YouTube as no-one in their right mind would pay to watch it and anyone who did would want their money back.

Cheap digital tosh

Warning: Spoilers
POISON SWEETHEARTS is a bizarre little indie thriller about the mean streets and their treatment of the women living in them. There are no less than six stories collected here, all of them featuring women pushed to the edge thanks to various reasons, and all of them completely lame and forgettable. The only noticeable thing about this cheap digital tosh is that it's one of the earliest indies to attempt a 'grindhouse' look in the same style as GRINDHOUSE, but this isn't a horror or exploitation movie as the synopsis suggests, just a boring character piece.

Bad Avoid the Noid, it ruins Movies.
kempever8 August 2008
Yeah where to start This movie is so bad for so many reasons it is unbelievable that they even released it. The Tagline these women can't take anymore, man I can't take it anymore this is awful. 1.The effects:Bad Blood looks like day glo red paint you used use when you kid finger painting. 2.The stories poorly made and boring 3.Green Screen everywhere and it looks like early 70's Hawaii five o stuff cutting edge for the time but come on were in the 2000's. 4.Poor acting or Bad Script dosen't really matter both bad.

Listen I know this is a micro budget movie but that didn't stop movies like Phantasm and Evil Dead from being quality without known actors with a good script and good effects they made the unimaginable believable. Good back and watch these movies mister Director of this slop goto other places on the net and watch want there doing with just a camera

To the public avoid at all costs until this director gets serious and dosen't just want to take your money.

Just Off The Corner Of Reefer and Madness
Richard_Dominguez12 September 2018
There was no horror in this movie, but I still thought it was really good, it has a documentary made in the 70's style that was done well with the "educational" beliefs of a "Reefer Madness" documentary. It also has a sly element of humor (morbid as it may have been) and watching it in this era I got the same enjoyment as if I was watching "Reefer Madness" or other exploitation movies of the 30's. I believe that this is exactly what the makers of the movie were shooting for and they hit it right on the mark ... Insane as it may sound I thought this was a good time
