Powerful documentary!
draculemihawk-5887926 August 2020
A documentary that shows exactly where poisonous ideologies lead to. It sheds light on the tragic events of the Ottomans and Neo-Turks, who succeeded in exterminating Christian population during 1913-1923. Historically accurate. The photography in this documentary is amazing. It definitely worth watching!

A must see historical documentary.
aturkirkuk28 September 2020
In this amazingly narrated, written, directed, and produced documentary you get an eye opening glimpse into a dark and astonishingly evil time in history. With a stories told by survivors and historians, wrapped together with historical clips, some that I have never seen before, and animation, you get reliable knowledge of a time that many have tried to conceal and deny. The production in this documentary is beyond big screen worthy, and keeps you at the edge of your seat wondering how such an event is not taught about in schools and acknowledged world wide! Very informative and something everyone needs to see.

An important story to tell
mbasseas19 September 2020
A well-done documentary that provides excellent historical context and firsthand survivor accounts about the genocide of Christian populations in Asia Minor. An important contribution to unearthing a suppressed and silenced history.

Absolute masterpiece

A documentary that focuses on the facts and tells us all about this very sad chapter of our history, the quality is amazing and its TV-worthy, it opened my eyes to many things and details that I had never heard about before. It gives a voice to all of those who have died during these horrible events, what has been lost during those times will never be recovered or replaced, but this might bring them some justice and warn others so that we can learn from history and not repeat it

A Must See Documentary!!
urgabriel30 September 2020
This documentary brings to light a tragic genocide that has been silenced and unrecognized for too long. Survivors share their personal stories of the crimes committed against them and their families by the Ottoman Turks. There isn't enough information out there about the Assyrian, Armenian, and Greek genocide but this documentary reveals accurate historical facts about what happened. Watching this documentary made me emotional but also eager to learn more. I had goosebumps through out the entire thing. I had to keep pausing to take notes and rewatching different scenes because I was truly blown away by the information I learned. I highly recommend this film to everyone to watch, it is definitely a must see! Thank you for creating this film and sharing the truth of a genocide that has been kept secret for far to long!!

Awakening Justice
jascot-0533931 October 2020
The Greek genocide perpetuated by the Ottoman Turks in the early 1900 has not been acknowledged and this documentary has challenged us to remember and demand Justice for those that succumbed to unbearable cruelty inflicted by other human beings. This tragedy happened then and continues to this day to the Kurd's living in Turkey. Where is the outrage? This documentary has awaken the cry for Justice.

Compelling film about a little known subject
Divrigtsi7 November 2020
Bill Kurtis does an excellent job presenting this little-known but very important subject. Most people know about the Holocaust, the Cambodian killing fields, Rwanda, Darfur, etc. But many have yet to hear about what happened to the Greeks, Armenians, and Assyrians a century ago.

Although it covers events from a 100 years ago, it really provides a timely and valuable perspective on what's happening today, especially as Turkey again appears to be engaged in ethnic cleansing in the Middle East and the Caucasus.

Best of its kind!
panagiotispavlos3 February 2021
This is an exceptional and no less unique documentary produced in the US (Chicago) that sheds light on the worst tragedy of Hellenism in the 20th century: the Greek Genocide in Asia Minor and the Pontos caused by the predecessors of Nazism, the NeoTurkish lethal nationalism that destroyed a longer than 3.000 years old Greek presence in the lands of Asia Minor and Anatolia. Worth watching for educational, pedagogical, historical, sociological, political, geopolitical, religious, anthropological and humanitarian purposes. The high quality and popularity of this extraordinary documentary was recently confirmed by being the first and only production to be available on Amazon Video Prime, Apple TV and Google Play. Absolutely and highly recommended!

Great Documentary
anatolia-4504531 October 2020
This is a very important and unique documentary on the persecution and destruction of the Greeks and other Christians in Eastern Thrace and Asia Minor at the beginning of the 20th century. It shows convincingly how under various pretexts the Young Turks and Nationalists employed different methods to exterminate these people, of which the main one was mass deportations of noncombatants in order to facilitate the denial of genocide.

I have always been a Bill Kurt's fan and even more so now! He narrates this powerful documentary about the Greek genocide, a part of history not know to many, in such a capturing way. The historical footage, the photos, the survivors' stories, and the animation all create a perfect film! Well done!!

Amazing documentary
thomaki-551362 November 2020
This was an amazing documentary about what sadly is a little known historical event. This is must see viewing for all who want to know what happened 100 years ago as the Ottoman Empire was crumbling, leading to the killing of millions of civilians. A dark page of history to be sure but something that should never be forgotten.

An Excellent, Very Moving Documentary
ctzanos-062543 November 2020
This very moving documentary tells the story of the destruction of the Greek communities of Eastern Thrace and Asia Minor by the nationalist Turks during 1913 to 1923 in their pursuit to cleanse Turkey from its Christian population - Greeks, Armenians and Assyrians. Eastern Thrace and Asia Minor were the homeland of Greeks for thousands of years before any Turk set a foot in the area. About one million of Greeks, citizens of Ottoman Turkey, perished from massacres, forced death marches, slave labor, and starvation, and more than a million were forced to leave. This excellent production brings to light a human tragedy that Turkey is refusing to take responsibility of, as has done for the genocide of the Armenian and Assyrian people of Asia Minor. It is greatly recommended.
