The Village Hall anthology series has produced some truly wonderful tales, and somehow the Hall itself is always the central character. On this occasion the episode tells the story of what goes on behind the scenes. The Hall's puppet masters as it were, at work, and their disagreements. Committee member Leonard Beamish, a moderate, and progressive, clashes with chairman, and leaves. The majority of committee leave alongside Beamish, but set up a committee of their own.
With Village Hall I find generally it's the characters that make the show, with the story line itself always secondary, the previous episode Lot 23 was a great example of engaging story, and wonderful, eccentric characters. Old Scores is a decent episode, very well acted, particularly by John Woodnutt and Christopher benjamin, but it's a bit middle of the road.
A decent watch. 6/10
