Perhaps it's not the sort of movie the average person would want to see, but wow is it well made.

Warning: Spoilers
This is one of the films included on the inexplicably titled "More Shorts For Cats"--as none of the films seemed to have anything to do with cats or which would interest cats!! I half expected shorts featuring tweeting birds or mice dancing about--not these sort of films!

For me, this short film began on a bad note. Seeing a person sitting on the toilet urinating is a real turnoff. Now it WASN'T that explicit, but enough to turn off many viewers (other than those who liked the famous Jenny McCarthy toilet photo perhaps). But, as this film is about prostitution and the seedier side of life, I can at least understand the film makers' reasons for doing this. Just be forewarned, that's all.

The film stars a black Englishwoman and consists almost completely of black Brits--a very novel thing, as most people around the world might assume their are no dark-skinned Brits based on their not often being depicted in films. This aspect of the film intrigued me--as it made it very different from the norm.

This lady is then shown on a 'date' with one of her clients. However, this guy is really, really creepy--and it's obvious she senses danger and wants to get away from this weirdo.

This film is VERY adult--with very adult language and content. While there is no nudity per se, it is NOT a good film to show your mother or children! There are some rather graphic scenes involving rape, some very graphic songs and language as well as the urinating (twice)--yuck. One other warning is that the film has no captioning of any sort--and due to the heavy accents it's sometimes hard to understand what's being said. It would really help to include them as this American had to struggle to understand some of the actors due to the accents--and I am sure many non-Americans would feel that way about many of our films.

Still, despite these misgivings I have, there is a lot to respect about the film despite its seediness. The film is very, very stylish and unusual in its execution and shows great promise for the film makers who made it. Plus I liked how it did NOT present the horrible "Pretty Woman" image that glamorizes a very ugly sort of life! And, the twist at the end is terrific! I loved how it tied everything all together. So, as a result, I give this one a recommend but with reservations.
