Last year saw the release of Wolf Of Wall Street and Gravity – two highly successful films that won, or at least were nominated, for tons of awards. If we were to look into the sheer amount of work that was put in to getting those films made, we would find that the end results are even more impressive. Leonardo DiCaprio had been attached to Wolf Of Wall Street since 2007; Gravity had been in the development process at Universal Pictures for years before casting began back in 2010. Last week we went a bit crazy writing about the news that Angelina Jolie may star in a movie called Gravity written by Children of Men director Alfonso Cuarón and his son Jonás Cuarón (both seen above). Well, it looks like Cuarón and his son may work on a children's film next called A Boy and His Shoe that's been in development for a while. It's about a young French girl living in Scotland with her family for the summer who crosses paths with two gypsy Scottish boys "in surprising and touching ways." It even already has a cast, too: Charlotte Gainsbourg (Antichrist), Guillaume Canet (The Beach), and Daniel Auteuil (Caché). This casting is being reported by The Playlist, who found a mention in a London Evening Standard profile on Charlotte Gainsbourg. First Angelina Jolie was in his sci-fi thriller, Gravity, and then the next day (literally) she was out. Now, according to the London Evening Standard (via The Playlist), it looks as though the filmmaker’s long talked about A Boy And His Shoe is slowly getting ready to go. At least today it is.
