Good to see Season 2

Really enjoyed season 1 and so happy to see them renew the show. This is a show that even my husband can enjoy!

Still love the series, but the new guy doesn't fit in. Didn't really like him in brokenwood mysteries either. Bring Kieran back.

Love the new setting in New Zealand. Same quicky vibes. Madison is back. Love her banter with Alexa. Love the new cat.

Alexa continues her trend of being unfiltered and a bit misanthropic. She's annoyed at having her space invaded by Madison. But it adds to the humor and their banter. I think she secretely really likes having Madison there. I mean Madison could have just left NZ or got a different apartment, but Alexa gave her a key.

Alexa's conversations with the psychiatrist are actually interesting especially the parts about grieving for the death of a spouse and how that can affect someone. Notice Alexa's facial expression showing some self-awareness there.

The mystery and investigation are really good and you can follow along and deduce Alexa's thinking as she uncovers more and more information.

All the guest stars were good. New cast members were good. Harry seems very stoic but has good banter with Alexa. Reuben seems really friendly.

I had fun watching, the characters and mysteries are light yet still compelling because you enjoy them. I look forward to watching the rest of the season. 10/10.

keiran and Alexa

I miss the chemistry between Alexa and Keiran. I love the places they film but I am hoping that they find a way to bring back the actor Bernand curry. I agree that the chemistry is lacking with Harry and Alexa, I do like the actor, and he is good but if it's about Alexa finding love I think Keiran and Alexa relationship way more interesting. Harry character to me is more as an antagonist for Alexa and Keiran is the flirty will, they or wont they kind of relationship, he is the only person other than her late husband that she listens to and trust. I hope again that they find a way to bring him back, I will take a zoom character over not having him in the show.

Missing Melbourne

I understand that they had to switch locations due to covid. But the new location is a huge disappointment. I've never been to Melbourne but was amazed by it. Every building, bridge, park, etc. Was so unique and breathtaking. I've never seen anything so interesting. It was like it was a character in the show and thus added an element of excitement that's totally missing this season. Apologies to. Kiwis. Honestly no offense meant. I'm sure Auckland is a lovely place. It's just that it looks like many places I've visited whereas Melbourne does not. It's like they miscast a beloved character and the chemistry is all off. I realized that Melbourne WAS my favorite character!! Speaking of characters, the new Kieran has very little personality. And the new restaurant she hangs out in is boring in comparison to the one in Melbourne. I could have hung out in that one daily and been very happy.

This episode was downright ridiculous in that there's no way I buy the solution.

Not as good as the first season

A bit of a disappointment, no Kieran and Lucy Lawless has sacrificed her cheekbones for an awful lot of filllers, so it's difficult to concentrate. A new area as well, all seems a bit disjointed.
