Alan Scott's Green Lantern.
pwclyons7 September 2021
To those who complain about Jenny inheriting her father's Ring, Alan Scott's Power Ring is not like the Green Lantern Corps Rings. It's magical, and is not controlled by the Guardians of the Universe. The Ring chooses its own bearer. And Jenny has an inherited connection to the Lantern's power source, the Starheart. In fact, her connection with the Starheart is what charged the Ring in the first place.

Much better episode than last week imo

Courtney's struggle was so real this ep and relatable. Great meeting Jennie and learning more about Alan Scott Green Lantern thru her. Eclipso is terrifying he really is chaos personified. Can't wait to see where S2 takes us. Can already tell it's gonna be one heck of a ride.

In Brightest Day, in Blackest Night, the Green Lantern is here - a brilliant follow-up to Chapter One
Holt34419 August 2021
Summer School: Chapter Two is a direct follow up to the previous episode, it was much more character focused and focused on character development and build up, it was needed after the two part season finale which was really action packed. But episode two follows the previous events and has Stargirl still on the lookout for evil in Blue Valley, Courtney grows suspicious after an unexpected visitor shows up at the Dugan house whom claims to be Alan Scott's daughter (the Green Lantern of JSA). Meanwhile, Barbara and Pat become concerned after a visit from a mysterious antiques collector named Richard Swift. Elsewhere, Cindy puts her plan in motion. Yes, Cindy is trying to rebuild ISA and she has the gem that holds the life essence of Eclipso whom Nick Tarabay is playing. We got some backstory in the previous episode and it's looking to be a very evil character. It's also nice to finally get introduced to Richard Swift / The Shade who's brilliantly played by Jonathan Cake

I would actually say that everything is better in this episode, especially the acting but also the writing and direction. Andi Armaganian returned in the director chair but it just feels better. Ysa Penarejo gets more to do as Jenny / Jade (the new Green Lantern) in this episode and she seems like a good actress and I like the writing for Jade. The visual effects are also impressive and needs to be for a Green Lantern character. The musical score is great.

Summer School: Chapter Two takes the second season in the right direction, with more at stakes and better writing. Brec Bassinger gives the audience a great performance and leads the show. I found the story and writing to be realistic, you feel what Courtney / Stargirl is going through and it's played out extremely well. I'm so happy with how they fixed the over cheesy tone of the previous episode, they nailed it in this episode. I can't wait for Chapter 3.

Hm.

Warning: Spoilers
The Green Lantern chick explains herself and that the rings bought her to the house. The Family decides to let her stay. Courtney goes to Summer School, and Yolanda is attending. Funny enough, the teacher is the same actor as that nerdy one from Stranger Things. Rick returns to the place where he dropped off some chickens. News flash. They're gone. He drops off four pizza boxes. Rick hears something in the woods but ignores it and turns on his car. Nat takes the chick to his facility to check on the robot. Nat trains Jade. Meanwhile, Cindy's mom is cleaning up the mess that she made. Some magician arrives in the town and speaks to Barbara over some collection. Swift promises Barbara that he will be in touch. The JSA arrives at Nate's facility. God damn, I swear. Courtney makes Jade leave over jealousy. Cindy's mom is forced to take on her stepdaughter, Cindy. Courtney forgives Jennie for being rude to her. Jennie lashes at her and throws the Lantern on the floor releasing a shockwave in the town. Nat meets with Swift talking about their life and special interests. Rick brings the Lantern to a park: Pat realizes that Jennie can absorb the Lantern's energy from exploding. She does so until it goes boom. The next morning, Pat researches through the files of Swift. Pat tells Courtney about someone named Shade is most likely in the town. Cindy returns home, only to be attacked by his mother, "she" sucks the life force outta her. Cindy argues with the purple stone that she's in control.

Thoughts?

Definitely a slow one, but better than the previous episode where it fixes the strange tone. It is decent and watchable enough. I do enjoy the new starring cast members. I do hope to god that the Green Lantern stuff will be done right since many fateful attempts. Good drama here.

8/10.

Put the raw diamond on Cindy's forehead

Warning: Spoilers
Chapter 2: Nice development, over-cheesy tender tone, though with some shades of seriousness, especially the dark Eclipso and his deceitful agenda. Already clear that the "team" including Green Lantern's daughter would stand against Eclipso. End result yet to be seen.

The show was tender cheesy with its season 1 and after chapter 2, it's clear that the writers will continue on the same path. What is shown as darkness is not really dark, though I have to admit that Cindy (Meg DeLacy) gives good performances here and that she's one of the dark anchors of the series. Thanks writers!

Put the raw diamond with purple life-clenching mystics on Cindy's forehead! It's better suited there.

Green Lantern?????
nightringer-768401 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
First of all, Green Lantern's rings are not inherited. So this is pretty much ruining the origin and destroy all the comics history for the sake of a producer trying to grab as much credit as he could.

This season is doubtful.
