In the depths of the River Arts District in Asheville, North Carolina, a large tour bus is parked outside the tiny Grey Eagle where the Red Clay Strays are set to play a sold-out show that evening. The band’s coach is so tall that it all but obscures the venue behind it from street view — a visual metaphor for the Mobile, Alabama, group’s rapidly upward trajectory.

Mo'Nique is back on the small screen! On Feb. 3, the 55-year-old Oscar winner made her highly anticipated debut as Atlanta strip-club owner Goldie on episode five, titled "Moment of Truth," of "Bmf" season two. Though Goldie only appears in a few minutes of the episode, it's clear she means business, and she's not taking any nonsense from anyone - especially Leon.
"When Goldie shows up, either two things is going to happen: something really good will happen or something really not so good will happen," Mo'Nique tells Popsugar. According to Starz, Goldie ends up forming an alliance with Demetrius "Big Meech" (Demetrius "Lil Meech" Flenory Jr.) and Terry "Southwest T" Flenory (Da'Vinchi), helping fuel their migration from Detroit to Atlanta. It'll be interesting to see how that plays out, considering their first interaction wasn't exactly the best.
But despite her character's tough persona, Mo'Nique says Goldie's actions come from a place of love.

Ahead of this year’s FIFA World Cup, set to take place in Qatar in November, Whisper, Final Replay and Sony Pictures Television, in association with soccer-themed streaming platform FIFA+, are producing a 10-part docuseries about the history of the tournament titled “Moment Of Truth.”
The series will “examine the world’s favourite sport through the lens of human endeavour,” according to the official logline. “Why do we care so much about the game? What makes exceptional footballers tick? What lifts teams to greatness? What does it tell us about ourselves?”
The answer to those questions – and the themes around which the docuseries is built – are located in the words “absolution, cunning, genius, courage, inspiration, joy, art, passion, hope and wisdom.”

“Moment of Truth,” the new five-part docu-series about the murder of basketball legend Michael Jordan’s father, doesn’t provide definitive evidence about why James Jordan was killed in 1993 after he pulled over to the side of the road in North Carolina, or prove who pulled the trigger. But what it does illustrate is the many miscarriages of justice that took place in the lead up to the conviction of Daniel Green, a Black man, and Larry Demery, his white friend, for the crime.
“This crime and the subsequent trial and convictions speak to a larger conversation about systemic racism in the criminal justice system,” says Matthew Perniciaro, the director of “Moment of Truth.” “One of the saddest parts of the story is looking at how little progress has been made in those systems in the decades since this crime occurred.”
