Incomprehensible.
Davalon-Davalon28 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The first few minutes of episode one look like a badly shot, but extremely tender love scene between two men. Within moments, we realize we are watching the scene on the blank wall of someone's apartment. The tender love scene is forgotten while we plunge into a poorly acted chatfest between two other men, one who was apparently the director of the tender love scene, and the other, one of the actors in the love scene.

It is impossible to watch the love scene (yes, it is nude, but it is not pornographic), because there is some art object sticking up right in the center of the screen... so... what is/was the point?

One of the men has a flashlight strapped to his head for reasons I cannot comprehend. Then he goes on and on about the theory of "memories of forgetting" -- all of this does not make any sense, nor is it remotely interesting.

Then the two men (not in the love scene) start to have some over-the-top argument about why they broke up. All the dialogue sounds like it comes from histrionic pop songs. While this is going on, it sounds like the neighbors are having some lively discussion at the top of their lungs. But... apparently (?) it is coming from the film that the two men are no longer watching. Then there is screaming and tears. This leads to a hot make out session (while one of the men still wears his flashlight).

In episode 2, a cat wanders into the bedroom of the flashlight man. Followed by this, flashlight man reunites with his lover in a park for a tearful moment, followed by other information that is of no value, then we get to see the two of them eating, each with a surgical mask hanging off one of their ears. This leads to another hot make-out session on a set of concrete stairs, which leads to some kind of fake forced fight and more tears.

In episode 3, the former concrete stair kissing leads to a violent sex scene, followed by tenderness and a return to the movie, in which the Actor of the couple (the flashlight man is apparently the "director") watch the movie from episode 1. Then a dance, followed by smoking pot.

In episode 4 I guess we finish watching the "film" within a film, which features an older woman singing a song on what looks like old film stock. This is followed by the Actor and Director having a heart to heart in the stairwell, and they are both wearing flashlights on their heads. Because. You know.

Episode 4 also seems to contain a lot of footage from episode 1, because... ? This segues into a scene of the cat from before apparently watching the Actor and Director making out. This leads to the two of them feeding a group of cats.

Episode 5 is the director apparently giving the woman from before a haircut. It is his mother. This scene goes on a long, long time. The Director and his mother dance to the same sad song that has been featured in, I think, every episode. Then the mother is left alone for her Oscar-winning moment as she breaks down and cries... and apparently dies.

By Episode 6, the lovers are having problems again. We meet them at someone's wedding. They give each other longing looks. And then, as church bells ring, they give each other more longing looks -- with surgical masks on.

I am sorry. I do not understand the point or purpose of any of this.
