I saw this short film on an Air Canada flight from Vancouver to Hong Kong. The movie kept me on the edge of my seat for almost the entire length of the movie, and the ending is totally unexpected... and delightful and genius! Even though the entire movie was shot in a small convenience store, there was no dull moment at all. One is so drawn to what's going to happen next inside the little shop.
For a multi-cultural country like Canada, many people can relate to this short film, the movie also deals with culture, language, gender, family, romance and new immigrants' livelihood. It is a thriller and a comedy without the typical silly innuendo, but an intellectual fusion of humour and fear into a brief 10 minutes or so.
I wish I can find it on-line and watch it again!
