It's alright but the host gets on my nerves and the conversations feel somewhat fake and scripted. It's okay if you have nothing else to watch but there are definitely better (and worse) shows that TruTV has to offer.

Great idea and awesome creativity. The host is not worthy of this position. The jokes and small talk is super annoying. Ideas to make it better is to show more designing content, show what cost what, and find a host that is serious about that the designs. The current host makes it almost seem like it's reading class in 3rd grade.

Had Potential, Then Host Showed Up

I was excited when Backyard Bar Wars popped up on HBOMax. Depending on where you live neighborhood bars are the latest craze. What's better than having your own themed bar to share with friends and family? The episodes are unique in that they showcase a variety of different themes, though after watching the first 3 episodes it's evident the shows travel budget was non-existent - they're all filmed in less than savory California neighborhoods.

And the host, good lord....they couldn't have found a more arrogant, clueless individual than this guy. He's wasteful, has absolutely no knowledge of construction, and his one-liners fall short every time.

This show could be right up there with the great home edits, but I wouldn't be surprised if this is the one and only season.

This Show Feels Ripped Off....BECAUSE IT IS

Come on guys, you don't know a parody when you see one?! This show is simply meant for fun, riffing on the stuffy backyard makeover shows on that other home network. It's quick paced, fun, and enjoyable! Lighten up and enjoy it!

I'd rather watch Brendan Schaub's comedy special

Hacky comedy, clunky, choreographed conversations. If a website hosted bets on a season 2, I'd place a year salary on it not happening. Network TV is dead and Chris nor Backyard Bar Wars (BBW?) will revive it.

The show would be basic if Chris wasn't the host

I feel like Chris adds a lot to the show and is one of the main reasons a show like this is on trutv and not on diy or a home improvement network.

Love the concept and tried to force myself to get past the awful host, but couldn't do it. How this guy landed the job is beyond me. I feel bad for the "contestants" for having to pretend to laugh for days on end.

Chris is the bomb

Wanna master a track saw, then go to youtube. Chris D, seemingly ad lobbying throughout is a riot. Show at 1/2 hour feels like a superfast ride on a roller coaster. However, the developed sets are generally inventive, albeit bordering on jamming 10lbs. Of ---- in a 5lb. Bag. Anton and Anthony seem genuine and friendly, even if they're not master carpenters.

Concocted scenes cover every spectrum of the color wheel. Designs can be way over the top, but Chris shepherds us through the development and reveal. Scoring is flawed, but it doesn't matter. Watch it, and make the signature cocktails; then rate it.

I was looking forward to watching this show. The commercials looked fun, and it was conveniently on after Impractical Jokers, who I watch all the time. It started off okay - the host seemed personable, and the contractor seemed nice - and that's where it ended. The host repeatedly insisting that marijuana be included in the build, and saying "it's legal now" repeatedly, finished me. Booze wasn't enough for you, truTV? I'm not a prude, but I'm sick of people pushing marijuana on others. Because of this, I'm done. What a disappointment, truTV! I know others who feel the same way! 👎🏻

This show is entertaining and inspiring for people who want ideas for their backyard bar. Host and contractors are fun. Hopefully this show gets more seasons to come and a bigger spending budget to spice things up. But loving what they're doing with the budget they have now.

Scripted Stupid Slap Stick and drunks.

Corny host trying to act like he's not acting. This is not a show about revamping your back yard, its a drunken staff at frat party in a back yard and being rewarded on how much they drink and who is the most stupid. I forced my self to watch the 1st episode, it was painful to watch. Could of been a good show but this is completely off the rail, and not in a good way.

DiStefano makes this show fun!

Great show! I hope they bring it back for more seasons. The show gets better as the session goes on. Fantastic ideas for what you could do to your backyard bar, and DiStefano is hilarious.

I mean, this first episode rips off a well-established design of one of the most-well known magic theatres in the world. That's bush league, TruTV. You should at least check something out before you air it. It could have been the contestant's idea, but you made money off it.

This is a cool show with a great host ! This guy is a comedic genius and I heard he even played college basketball 🐐🐐🐐 you should check out his stand up and podcasts very funny.

A new series that seems to have limitless potential. DIY and home bars shouldn't be considered a trend but a lifestyle upgrade that every home owner seeks.

* Also... to be able to secure a host such as Chris Distephano instantly raises the series to the next-level.

Life Changing, Amazing Show. Chrissy D takes it another level.

I was hesistant, as an ex-alcholic, but i gave this show a "shot". My babe and I turned it on and watched every episode. Chrissy D is the best host ever, hilarious.

Such a funny show thanks to the host. I had not seen him before here in Australia, but after watching this I think he's awesome! Cool fun show, well worth a watch especially while having a few brews :)

It's refreshing! I'm not even joking though, it's gotten funnier as the season has gone on. Maybe because the cast and crew got in the groove. Also, finally a network show that does not inject politics into every little aspect of the show. The host is great, so are the contractors, Anthony and Anton. The contestants have been good too, some pretty solid bar ideas from most of them. If you like the idea of watching a fun version of a DIY style show, you will like this show! Highly recommend checking it out if you haven't. Fingers crossed that the show continues on the way it is, I'll be watching, for sure!

Super entertaining. Love the Downing brothers they execute amazingly well even with the less interesting contestant concepts. Host can be a little bro-sy but it's still nice to watch a feel good easy-going show sometimes. Hope it gets picked up for more seasons.

I want a themed bar in my backyard now!

Chris is too funny... silly, adult drinking humor. Felt like you were part of the party, instead of quarantined, cautious and isolated, miss the good times. Watched the season twice, got HBO Max just for this show... guess I'll have to cancel subscription now.

Highly recommend watching this creative Bar and hangout area making life fun and great for friends to hangout safely... really cool ideas.

I really want this in my backyard. I'd even let Chris kiss me on the lips 😘. Good time fun. Nice escape. If you ever extend your show to come out to 93561 area, I'd be your first volunteer. Oh! Anthony and Anton bring it all together and make your Backyard Bar dreams come true. 😍 AF.

Only makeover show to make me laugh

This show is a breath of fresh air. Chrissy D aka ...makes the show enjoyable. It's funny and relaxed, unlike many other shows that blow smoke up their own cheeks. This show isn't pretentious and full of itself. Great watch. Keeps it light and fun. Hope it comes back for a second season.

The twins, Anthony and Anton are also game. They go along with Chris' silly antics and are game to look silly in the intros themselves. Chris knows nothing about DIY so he makes himself the bud of a lot of the jokes. Thus making himself and the show more endearing. I hope this show comes back, it's one of the best
