One of the worst episodes of the Season.

Warning: Spoilers
Season 33 has had some really great episodes but this one isn't one of them. The 'Worth A Try Burger' gag was only funny the first time. Corporates take ownership of Krustyburger after Gus from Worth A Try Burger buys him out. The first part of the episode is cool, there is a nice bondage between Grandpa and Lisa, then Krusty is unable to use his own show and makes a new one with copyright free names. Instead of continuing this plot, the story focuses on a really long and drowned out B story which ends up being the entire episode about corporate ownership. The guest stars in this episode is a mess. We have John Lithgow and some TikTok dancer i've never heard of or cared about. The TikTok influencer made the rest of the episode boring as the plot shifted to all about her instead. What happened to Krusty?! I did not laugh for the whole 20 minutes... It's one of these parody specific themed episodes. I really hate these kind of episodes. . Would have been funnier if they continued the bootleg Krusty story. I don't need to watch it again.

A Better Succession Parody Ep Than I Expected

Warning: Spoilers
As someone who's only watched the first dozen or so seasons all the way through and seen very few recent episodes, I had pretty low expectations going in. But overall, it was actually pretty solid, with just the 30s of that random TikTok person at the board meeting standing out as cringe lol.

Seeing the origins of Krusty Burger as Krusty ripping off a small establishment felt on brand, then seeing him later without access to his own IP and having to use all the legal terminology was a good bit.

I'm always a sucker for a good Willy Wonka parody, so I enjoyed Discount Logan Roy's excessive wealth version of the song. His kids were ok parodies, with Krysten Ritter's Discount Siobhan being the standout. Wish we just got more Cousin Greg!

Even if it was pretty simple, I'm glad they still tried to keep up an emotional through line for the episode with Grandpa and Lisa having a bond. Lisa helping Grandpa use his senility to not get played again felt like a satisfying conclusion.

Obviously if you're not a Succession fan then you'd get less out of the episode. It's probably like a 7.6 for me more precisely, as it wasn't laugh out loud funny, but it's still made me consider watching some more modern Simpsons here and there.

Meat Is Murder

I liked that this was a bit of a rip off of the film 'The Founder' with Michael Keaton, and this episode did have some very funny moments.

However, it does fun out of steam fairly quickly, and the story seems to go to a place that isn't overly funny.

It's well-intentioned, there's no (and never) any doubt about that, but some of these series thirty-three episodes have suffered from the same problem and that's that they don't seem to be able to build on a fine premise that's been set out for them.

It's a shame, but once it ends up being 'Krusty loses everything' you can sort of think of many other examples of episodes that have gone down the same track, and they've all been better.
