"Do you have it?"
CulvertonSmith17 January 2022
Exciting, inventive, surreal, grounded, devastating, funny, and just about everything you want from a Euphoria episode. Great moments from pretty much every character in this, and I was particularly fascinated by what was done with Nate. I'm also loving what we get from Lexi, who is in many ways the most relatable character on the show. Excited to see what all of this leads to, but nervous about what it means for a lot of them. Another great episode!

Kinda dissapointed
Sc13nt1f1k17 January 2022
Episode 2 was all over the place, trying to connect the charcters. Firs episode was brilliant so i guess this second one had to slow it down.

With few bright moments mostly it's an episode about characters emotional state. With that said i hope ep3 pick up paste and put some 🔥🔥🔥 In it again.

definitely not as amazing as the first episode but still solid

Definitely not as amazing but still very solid. Euphoria does a great job of expressing characters through visuals . This episode is really good. I can't wait for next week.

levinson is the start of impressionistic filmmaking
aidensherry17 January 2022
I really couldn't care that much about the characters or like the love triangles (it's interesting but in the end not amazing), all I want to say here is that Levinson and Marcell Rev have pulled off what i've been looking for in cinema for a long long time

about 20-30% of this episode is built up with these elliptical and beautiful passages that flow through one another (which i've sort of termed impressionistic filmmaking when i thought of it a couple years ago), which I've wanted to do in filmmaking but Levinson got there first. Insane, insane, insanely good filmmaking and craft. Same deal in the first episode too with those photo moments where rue/jules the rest of the characters flash in and out.

Seriously that opening sequence gave me goosebumps so hard that my recently shaved legs started hurting from the hair ends.

I love this show but the Nate & Cassie storyline needs to end
calebamorgan17 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I thought the Cassie and Nate storyline would be interesting, but it's feeling forced and random. It's also taking up so much screentime, to the point where I just wanted the other characters on screen when Nate or Cassie was.

Cassie feels like a entirely new character, and Nate nearly does too. I also get the vibe they're gonna try and redeem him...? It's all just so weird and I'm not a fan of this storyline.

I loved Maddy and Kat's scenes even though Kat feels so sidelined as a character. It's also really sad because JULES even feels pushed to the side.. I did like her telling rue how she felt right away, shows she's learned to communicate her feelings more.

I absolutely love this episode Season 2 is already exceptional
UniqueParticle17 January 2022
So many different characters focused on in Out of Touch which is gloriously wonderful! To other reviewer I watch live with DirectTV, I'm not sure when it's on HBOMAX I just know it was always the next day before max was a thing. Anyway everything with Kat, Cassie, Jules, Lexi and Rue is all so good; it's juicy captivating television at its best! There's some perfect tension mashed in and riveting acting that deserves some Emmy nods.

Felt like watching a long video clip
aboalhyjaa17 January 2022
But in a good way? The directing, music and cinematography are amazing!

The way they break the 4th dimension when the characters starts talking to us. Or Rue when she start to narrate the events that took place in this episode or so, just amazing!

And, the way they deal with the problems our generation suffer from. Not to mention a specific thing but there's at least a dozen of problems you probably wont even focus on a specific one.

The sins of the father are the burdens of the son
KkonaW17 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This episode reminds us of how Nate Jacobs became who he is.

Something many mediocre fantasy writers don't understand is what makes a story great is mostly about how well the antagonist is constructed. In that aspect this series really delivers.

And it has exquisite aesthetic, too.

Nate and Cassie's development is great. It is great because it's a pairing that looks good in theory (he could complement her naivety and she could give him a moral compass), but is at the same time destined to end badly due to the incident in the first episode. If the writers never go there, you'd never see how messed up Nate's internal world is (buried deep in his fantasy you can still see Jules) and how much he was willing to give up to protect his family.

Out of Touch
Trey_Trebuchet19 January 2022
Not quite as strong as the opening episode of this season. It seems like sophomore episodes almost never are...

It's still good though. This episode is everywhere, showing us further where some of the characters are and highlighting some missed in the premiere. There are still six episodes left, so I feel like the storytelling will likely be more cohesive and maybe a bit easier to follow as well. I trust these writers, I just hope the rest of the season is more consistent!

Also, please let there be more Lexi in this season. I relate to her the most and she's underutilized.

I Need More Substance
bbevis-4795418 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Out of Touch is another entertaining episode of Euphoria, full of sex, drug-use and trippy visuals. My favorite scene was the brief moment at Fez's mini mart with Nate's dad. Tense moments like Cassie stuck in the bathroom in the premiere and Nate's dad sizing Fez up are the best parts of this show. Somethings don't work in this episode. Jules being jealous of Rue and Kat questioning her self-confidence again. I thought this episode was going to focus on Maddie and Cassie. Maybe explore their relationship and have Maddie find out that she was with Nate already. It could give more insight into their relationship and their characters in general. Instead, Euphoria is constantly switching back and forth between so many characters with constant narration and it makes Euphoria feel shallow. I wish Euphoria would take it's time with the quieter moments. The show seems afraid to spend more than a few minutes with certain characters and it really slows their development. On top of that the constant narration is annoying at times and sometimes I want Rue to shut up and let the scenes playout.

Season 2 is a chance for Euphoria to grow up a little bit. This episode seems more interested in the shallow escapades of the characters, rather than purposefully developing them into something interesting. Euphoria remains entertaining because of how over the top everything is, but the show really needs some more meat on its bones.

Do You Have It?
mateomathew17 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Euphoria Delivers A Spectacular Episode.

The style changed a bit and for good. It's kinda like a dynamic Scorsese classic like Casino or Goodfellas. Narrated through the protagonist but in this case each one of the characters storyline intertwined. The opinion sequences was hypnotic and cryptic. Insted of the delivering a classic origin of each one of the characters we immediately pick up were we ended last episode. I loved the scene where Maddie looks through the mirror. She's my favorite character so I'm very interested on what's going on. The cinematography with the neon lights is a joy for the eye. This show is now certified quality by HBO. Every shot is perfection. I think the triangle between, Maddie,Cassie and Nate is definitely going to an interesting part of the season along with Nate's father and Fez. The scene in the gas station was great. That innocent smile to Lexi was heartwarming and then bam. An insane tension. I Do need to see more of Lexi and her relationship with Fez. Rue was fine during the episode I want to see more of her and Elliot. And the scene where Elliot tells Rue to do drugs and Rue looks straight to the camera was hilarious. As the actors have said this season is darker but funnier many laughed out loud moments. Seeing BB,AKA vape girl was my same reaction as when Andrew Garfield appeared in NWH. She's hilarious and tbh I like the mystery of her character. It's cool if she appears here and there and has funny moments. I thought she wasn't going to be in this season because she didn't appear in the last episode. But I'm glad she's back. As kat problem might not be as revealing as last season is still very interesting. Kat doesn't want a skinny cute boy she wants a bigger guy (in every aspect). Very excited for the rest of the season to a absolute quality series By HBO And A24 both are quality assured.

Weaker installment, but still entertaining
FilmBrat10517 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
First and foremost, they need to find a solid narrative or storyline for season three because the first two have been a convoluted mess of stories that somewhat tie together in the finale. It's just a little tiring, hard to follow, and makes it more difficult to care for a character when they only get focus once every 10 episodes. I'm going to set my opinions for the characters aside, because right now I'm annoyed with more than half of them. This episode focuses on Rue's struggle with addiction (as always), as well as the emotional turmoil of having a crush on Elliot while being in a situationship with Jules. It also focuses on Cassie, Kat, & the Jacobs. The scenes with Cassie were just OK, though I appreciate she's getting some more development (hopefully it actually goes somewhere). Kat is one of my favorite characters, but her scenes also fell flat here, as I didn't care for her various visions. Nate makes an excellent villain, but I'm curious as to whether or not his father would be a better one for this season, only time will tell. Closing thoughts: Need more Lexi, Ashtray, & Elliot. Need less Maddy, Rue, & Jules.

Filler Episode
samuelh-9748517 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The storyline is unfocused at best. We have probably 10 different subplots, each one muddier than the last. I wanted to like this episode so bad, especially after following such a strong premiere, but it was just bad. Rue is heard narrating EVERYTHING that happens in the episode, and it feels very overexplainy and annoying. A multitude of plots are introduced, but none fully conceived. I don't think there was a single scene that lasted more than three minutes in the episode. Yes, there are a lot of characters, but that doesn't mean that they can't maintain a focused point of view. The dialogue is painfully bad at points, especially with the new character, Elliot. Rue is also being very confusing. She revolves her personality around Jules, yet consistently avoids her and lies to her. Rue also tells Elliot that Jules thinks that she is clean but in the previous episode she told Jules that she relapsed. The relationship between Lexi and Fez is the life hold of the episode. The cinematography is stunning and the creators have maintained the 'euphoria aesthetic', but overall euphoria season two is falling off.

Solid episode
Skykits17 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I don't know why people expect for every episode to go crazy... that would be exhausting. Series need a build up of a storyline in order to continue that was a great representation of that. It solidified some characters and now we are ready to know about them in the next episodes. Can't wait for episode 3.

Sam! Where are we going?
jpybsz24 January 2022
Season 2, episode 2 of Euphoria has us taking an entirely new direction in Sam Levinson's narrational style. Rather than focusing on a specific character, this episode vied for a whirlwind of experiences ranging from Cal to Lexie. It was really stinky at times though and I couldn't get past it. Smelled like rotting garbanzo beans. Yuck.

RULES 4 EVER
funnycommentor3 March 2022
The plot of the second episode was very interesting. The characters are well-developed and I really like the new characters (Faye, Elliott). The highlight of that episode was Kat's scene with all the girls telling her to love herself, it was so intense and amazingly written, WOW. In my opinion, Kat and Ethan they are a very nice couple and I want to see more of them! On the other hand, Cassie and Nate are an awful couple, just like Maddy and Nate were. Also, Jules and Maddy are a duo, I would never think for, they're incredible. The acting is amazing, totally remarkable. So far, season 2 seems very intense, dark and chaotic.

It felt like a music video - no plot.
pyodell98817 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
All of the fantasy stuff was so unnecessary. The writers have had over two years since season one to come up with season two...and they still haven't managed to create character development or a suspenseful plot. Nothing is formulating...

[7.1] "Just a concerned father" !
cjonesas19 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Episode 2: Yes, that looked like a long video clip of their messed up lives. The development is good though, attention is sort of paid to details, the flow and editing horrible and so far, I really don't understand what Eric Dane is doing in this production.

What this season up to now lacks the most is a tidy flow; instead we are having scenes here, scenes there, all packed up to reach 55+ minutes runtime.

Just for photography
omarsantesv17 January 2022
The script is bad and the actors are no longer 18 years old.

The photography is impeccable but the path that the series seems to follow does not look so promising.

The original Israeli Euphoria is far better
danieloo21-81-83962017 January 2022
The american show is too much of everything. The photography is amazing yes, but, the plot line is light years away than the original show (in the bad way).

Make yourself a favour and watxh the Israeli one.
