Ok a little better but
terrylarosa6 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
When you had nowhere to go but up..........anyway the CGI was minimal and the story has strained a little interest l. Also the dialogue was not as cringe inducing as the first ep. The show really suffers from a really supporting cast. They're not likable or Interesting in any way. The veteran regulars are ok. LOL to the people aimlessly walking in the background to and fro like they're at a market looking for souvenirs. Also LOL to some of the other episode reviewers. One keeps saying there's a strange light in the sky. It's the Sun. They're not underground but in a different time period and obviously when they fell through the temporal rift they landed straight to the ground. Another reviewer stated the doctor fell several hundred feet. Obviously they have no perception of height. It was at most a few dozen feet. People in real life have fallen from higher distances without a scratch. Always laugh when people can't arrive at logical conclusions. There's still some hope for the show but only if they wiped out half the cast.

Gavin the father is the breakout character. As he was trying to find his wedding band but only to be led by the US Government there.

And that it was a ruse and though he has not been in the military for quite some time, he has to have a close friend and confidante Levi, who is also a boyfriend of his estranged wife Eve there.

As the Harris son Josh life is on the line. And that they discovered they are not in the modern world but in the BC world there. Well second episode was a little better.

Let's carbon date metal, and "run" from a smilodon
random-707786 October 2021
Look, I have no problem suspending disbelief with a main premise, but EVERY detail of this show is ridiculously idiotic. You don't run from a predator unless you are running a few feet to get back in your car or an enclosure, especially a large cat. Everyone, especially everyone in California where there are mountain lions, knows this triggers a predatory response.

Everything that comes out of the mouth of the "Eve" character shows she has no knowledge of surviving a day hike at disneyland, and her instincts are worse. Yet she is clearly being set up to be a leader which is insane insult to audience.

Also anyone who has taken high school chemistry-- never mind a PHD in paleontology , knows you cannot carbon date material that was not once living in the past 50,000 years. Unless that dad was REAL cheap and that engagement ring is made from wood or bone, instead of gold and diamond, you can NOT "carbon date" it.

These idiocies are not necessary for the plot, nor do the 20 or so completely foolish plot holes and absurd actions one sees in 30 minutes require a lot of research to avoid. It is just lazy. Clearly the makers of this mess have zero respect for their audience and think the demographic of viewers is in the 80 IQ range.

Terra nova + lost = La Brea What does it matter?

Does a zombie or a superman match science?

Much better than the Vampire, Zombie and Superpower series.

Well, the doctor must be Wolverine
JBest576046 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Among the various (and numerous) ridiculous plot tidbits this week, the doctor, whose name I forget along with the names of every other character in this show, falls what looks like hundreds of feet to land on his back - on rocks - and not only avoids becoming soup, but also gets up and walks with a little help from his friends. Must have some fantastic healing powers; can't wait for him to pop the claws...

Did anybody involved in this take physics in high school?

Warning: Spoilers
You can't carbon-date inorganic material. I can suspend my disbelief quite easily, but the writers need to at least put some effort into not being stupid. I'm giving it 4 stars because the show is built on an interesting idea (although hardly a novel idea) and there's enough uncertainty that it could grow into something entertaining.

Even the CGI is from 10,000 BC

This show is soooo bad. There's nothing really memorable about the characters, two episodes in and there's no one who really stands out. They had a great premise and so far everything is falling flat.

No science. All fiction.
killerqueen-703958 October 2021
Well, it had some promise. I was willing to forgive the cheesy props in the pilot. But now, they're just acting like we're idiots. When Eve says, "Those are the Hollywood Hills," how hard would it have been to get a Hollywood crew to shoot the real Hollywood Hills instead of just showing us a few mounds of dirt? It would have added such a measure of intrigue. Instead, we just scoffed.

Plus, no government bureaucrat would say that "we can't authorize an exploratory mission" (to investigate what's beyond the light) because "we don't know for certain where that light leads." Of course you don't know! That's why you have to investigate it! Duh.

And, as if many American kids aren't struggling enough to get a decent education, they have just been told that you can "carbon-date" diamonds.

This is a major flippin' network. Doesn't anyone fact-check?

Ridiculous premise
dbflowers-712786 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Lets see, you, along with hundreds of other people fall hundreds of feet into a giant sink hole along with tons of debris from collapsed buildings and cars and for the most part, come away unscathed in a place (presumably below ground) with cut grass and trees and animal life as well as a light source like the Sun. Where did the light come from? Why didn't they all parish from the fall if nothing else? No one seems to have any memory of hitting solid ground nor do they seem to care. This is one of the most ridiculous story lines I've seen for a TV show.

Diamond Dating
fred_c_dobbs8 October 2021
Even though Diamonds are made from Carbon, they are millions of years old way beyond the capabilities of a Carbon 14 test.

If some other radioactive material was trapped in an inclusion in a diamond, and could be analyzed, it would not return a date of 10,000 years.

This is what comes from watching a show made by people who are upside down!

Not spoiler, just science!

Let's watch Youtube
rerunwatcher8 October 2021
What do you do when you are trapped in a time-warp? You have danger around every corner and may die and any second. What do you do? Watch youtube videos of course!!! And wouldn't you require either a celltower or a "hot spot" or some kind of internet to watch the videos?

This is so bad
DrMarazanvose24 November 2021
Anyone marking this show more than 5/10 is either mentally challenged or a relative of the writers.

Carbon dating the metal macguffin is not possible - cos, spookily, it ain't got carbon 14 in it. Also if it had been in the ground for 12,000 years it wouldn't come out shiny neither.

Do these writers ever think to run their script by someone without brain damage?
