Pretty good, but..
chrisberf9 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Well, it was a nice duel between Layton team (big alice and the rebels) VS just Wilford and his butler, so it was pretty obvious that the rebels would take the train again sometime.

BUT.. Layton is a good and smart guy that makes wrong decisions WHEN he is the winner. It's really sad to see his character making people lie to others, even though he is supposed to be a truthful person, especially when he was loathing the lies Melanie was telling the people on the train.

-4 for destroying a good character.

Hope built on if
Hillius8 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The first blow. Sometimes it can deflect your opponent, but other times it can leave you reeling and there were plenty in this installment of Snowpiercer.

Layton and co. Bring Asha up to speed as they continue to chase Wilford's train. Using side tracks they get close, but Wilford has some new tricks up his sleeve.

During the chase,Wilford gives his psycho pet. Kevin free reign to inflict yet more terror on an already terrorized crew of passengers. Ruth meanwhile remains locked up in jail.

After some damage control, Layton finally manages to catch Wilford who responds by forcing Layton's hand in the matter. A well timed coup and a throw down between Layton and Wilford results in a change of power structure once again.

Old friends are reunited while the fallen dead are honored and the passengers finally get a say each in the direction of their train.

As can happen in the case of governments built on hope, sometimes lies are necessary to motivate the desperate and give the people something to hope for as is seen in the finale of this episode. If the truth will come out we'll have to see. Pretty good entry.for still early in the season.

Build up for the new conflict, but in a dumb way
Dimakovtun10 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Layton made a person lie to the train.

That's a pretty idiotic move that shouldn't have happened.

It's dumb because: 1) Chances the new place is actually good are slim.

2) His lie will 100% get revealed, since too many people know about it, not mentioning that following #1 everyone would see it. I'd also expect Layton's team to oppose it much more openly.

3) There is no real urgency to go for a new place. Sending Alice alone would make more sense.

I think that the plot twist was out of character. It now paints Layton as evil, who is ready to risk thousands of people for a whim. His moral values worth nothing after such move.

Maybe that was the plan, to show there are no good sides? Wilford wasn't actually that bad? Jennifer Connelly still to appear in S3, and I feel the window of opportunity for her becoming a main character again is closed.

This season could be an opportunity for slow-down with action and refocus on exploration, the build-up is there. Yet the scenario seems to suggest a continuation of an unending war.

I'm disappointed because there is no side to root for any more.

Best episode of the series with a huge but...
Giannis25048 February 2022
And that is that it was so rushed...The storyline of this 3 episodes could be a whole season...I dont say this is bad but it felt a bit rushed imo... Nevertheless its an amazing episode with non stop action that everybody gets what they deserve(well not everyone but ok)and now i am so curious where the show is gonna go next...This and "Many miles away from snowpiercer" are the best episodes of the show so far.

Great and satisfying episode
BlueKnightReviews9 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This was a really great episode, the best we've gotten this season imo. I was very happy that we didn't have a premonition thus episode. This was very action packed and seeing wilford get taken down was extremely satisfying. Felt a little rushed but I'm not sure if that's budget related or not. Once again Layton proves that he is not a good leader at all, he's great with a resistance, but he should never lead. Layton having Asha lie to all the passengers makes him no better than Wilford. Does this make the show bad? No. It just better proves the point that someone else should be in charge. Regardless great episode and I'm really intrigued to see where Ashas story goes and hope to see Melanie soon.

Enjoyable but...
songod-9500314 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Seems every goods review here has a "but" in it! Why should mine be any different?

The "battle" was won too easily. Budget constraints preventing an all out knock down drag out? Wilford surrendered too easily. I expected him to die before handing the train to Layton. AND why let him live? Heck, why would Layton turn his back on him to hug his mothers child?? I expected Wilford to swing around and crack him!

If you are gonna be amoral and have someone lie to the train (a lie that makes no sense saying they come from a place no one has gotten to yet); you might as well go all the way and toss Wilford off the train! No more conflict! No more possibility of Layton Vs Wilford again.

But there would go the central "drama" of the show, yes??

Its like Batman never killing the Joker even tho the "no kill Batman" did not get introduced into the movie series till Nolan's trilogy. Batman would have saved many lives and himself a lot of grief if he had just done away with the guy, like in the Burton film.

New Season 3 "Big Lie" Makes No Sense
aboethius22 May 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The new and mostly irrelevant passenger addresses the train that they survived in a place of "trees, green grass, and life" that she called New Eden. We know this is a lie and this is five seconds after Layton addressed the train that every place they have searched has "let them down". The writing is not making any sense now.

This new lady is also cracked and lost. Skeptics should see through her lie really quick. What are they going to do - hide her? I guess the show could just make her vanish like they have with at least two regulars without explanation. With season 3, things are starting to get too sloppy. They looked desperate to invent some recurring theme of leaders needing to lie to maintain hope. That was totally unnecessary but they could have at least executed it with some sense.

Some interesting train tactics but then all of the sudden its over without much fight. Really rushed that. Lowest rated episode for me, and I don't think I can watch anymore.

well that was easy
otter688 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Who knew it would be so easy to capture Wilford? There was not much of a fight to capture him, and he was defeated pretty easily thanks to the rebellion on his own train and the superior minds on the other.

Not much suspense or tension.

Am I only one who think Andre Layton is Hypocrite all the time?
youngjinjang9 February 2022
He is lying to everyone except few people without a shame.

He always says he is against that kind of a situation.

He is a typical character of a dumb with a belief.
