A good watch after a long time
sanguineswati17 June 2023
Really enjoyed watching the movie. Good comedy and sends a very good message.

The plot is simple, story is unique, yet very connected to daily life of an average family.

Both the lead actors have justified their roles. The movie has good punches. Not even a single time movie feels boring or lengthy. Movie has well timed and very beautiful songs. Although it's a comedy movie but has some good emotional sequences too. Definitely worth watching the movie in cinema hall. You wouldn't regret watching it.

I am glad I didn't go by the negative reviews because it was really a good one. And the best part, you can't guess the storyline much from trailer.

Good family entertainer
rameshk-4148325 June 2023
When there are VFX based science fiction, pointless action, repeat horror movies endlessly hitting audience and when there's band of content in the web series endlessly coming to audience, a warm, romantic, old fashioned love story is always welcome.

For new comer, Sara did justice to her role. Vishal has done pretty good job. Others have done well too. Storyline may not be gripping but stayed around the morality of family values.

It's a good entertainer for a family! Few light laughs, views of indore ki gallis, local dialect, food joints, couple of good songs, light subject. All in all, good one!

What do you want, if not this?
sathwikvaranasy9 June 2023
Finally after many movies, bollywood gave a beautiful story with the perfect script. The movie starts with happiness and ends with happiness, without any lack of laughter. No character nor dialogue is forced into the audience. Every frame of those 140 minutes is meant to be there.

Sandeep shirodkar did very well with the score, and the songs by Sachin-Jigar are really 10/10. All the songs were perfectly blended into the story.

Talking about the cast, this movie is having the best supporting roles. Vickey kaushal lived his character and even Sara Ali Khan did improve her acting. I don't find any flaws to point out.

The story explains you the real meaning of few things.

Finally laxman ji made a hatrick with this. The meaningful climax leaves an impact of the movie on you.

Good movie about plight of women
hugy-6448220 June 2023
Well filmed and thoughtful. Director captures nicely how Indian women in lower middle class have to accept their husband's dictums and have no right to be ambitious.

It is the story or a woman who wants her husband and herself to live in an owned house and be well off but is misled to take the wrong path due to her husband's lack of ambition and his being a miser.

Movie is very realistic and a good portrayal by Sara Ali Khan. Having lived a few years in South India we have all seen lower middle class marrying their girls before 18. They have children by 21 and are expected to look after their homes and have no desires or ambitions in life.

While people claim that they have respect for women, the ground reality in India is still that women are not yet equal to men and don't have the same rights to build careers and be ambitious. This movie in a light mood highlights an important prevalent social stigma. Wish it had better and deeper insights though.

Could've been better...
shaikhirshad-412236 June 2023
Entertaining but lacks the screenplay and average performances by the cast except for Vicky Kaushal. Usual basic storyline with same old formula makes the film average. Ist half is too stretched lack of screenplay and nothing impactful happens but the 2nd half is more upward as the story gets serious which is good to watch. Superb acting by lead cast and others. There are some scenes in which acting is little over the top and gets irritating to watch. You'll also laugh in some scenes as they are quite good but rest of film is just average. Director could've taken a different take and makes the film more exciting but instead the film just perform like an average one. Dialogues are good but nothing new or exciting that would remind you. All n all it's an average film watch it for to otherwise wait for OTT...

Traditional family drama
mahetasahab4 June 2023
Bollywood has returned in full force. It is the traditional family drama that everyone has been anticipating. Definitely worthy of the expense. As an actress, Sara Ali Khan has performed admirably. And felicitations to Vicky Kaushal! Indoori's efforts testify for themselves. The narrative is engaging enough to maintain your interest. It is not a bad film in any way. Regarding a newlywed couple, there are a number of similar elements. The depiction of emotional aspects is adequate. On-screen rapport between Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan continues to develop. I would also like to thank the writing staff for creating such a wonderful story and dialogue.

Zara bachke
sameerlodaya2 June 2023
Sameer lodaya

As the title prevails Zara hatke zara bachke so be away from this movie

Such a loose and irrelevant content on which the makers made a full movie with such big stars..the movie fails to deliver any element of entertainment..the humour ,the songs ,the outlook ,the emotions the performances all were of very low quality

Both the stars were good for nothing they looked ugly and performed very poorly

In this era of OTT where we get to see new , strong contents and performances how can one even think of making this types of movies

Very sorry for the negative review but solely this to give true feedback so that they come up with good product.

Good movie
harereamsharma5 June 2023
At the moment, this is the best movie of the year. The whole family can now relax and enjoy the movie. Please buy your plane tickets as soon as possible. Vicky Kaushal is one of the best. Sara did a show on stage, and it was her best show up to that point. This movie is only worth watching because of how well these two stars get along. In terms of family and social fun, Laxman Utekar is like Priyadarshan of today. Most people agree that Laxman Utekar is the best comedy film director India has ever had. The movie has a strong emotional core. It was made with complete honesty. Every picture has a sense of honesty. If you don't see this movie in the theatre, you'll be sorry you didn't.

An entertainer in the most ideal sense. This movie is definitely worth the attention and money. It has a good emotional angle and is relatable for newly wed couples out there. It qualifies as sensible movie with a sensible plot. I have to admit that supporting cast is amazing too. Vicky Kaushal is someone to look out for here. His Indoori accent is really better than anyone could imagine. He has really worked very hard on it... Sara Ali Khan has played her part well enough. Tons of appreciation for her efforts. It is a classical family drama that can get you involved as an audience. You can enjoy the classic emotional ingredients with some fresh inputs.

Sara shines bright as a small town Punjaban. Vicky does his job sincerely.

After a long long time a movie which is worth watching with family which makes sense and thankfully no violence, even though I am Huge fan of Action movies but what they make now a days can only be called Violent movies.

Back to Zara Hatke Zara Bachke. It is warm, has emotions, has drama, has melodrama and most importantly outstanding performances.

Sara shines bright as a small town Punjaban. Vicky does his job sincerely.

Must must must watch.

This movie has a feel good factor.

Can be watched after the weekend as well. After a long long time a movie which is worth watching with family which makes sense and thankfully no violence, even though I am Huge fan of Action movies but what they make now a days can only be called Violent movies.

Not Expected From Vicky Kaushal
kavyarathi-2124215 June 2023
Not a good storyline. It looked like a total cringe. I mean if it is a middle class romance, it should be relatable but it was totally not. Someone is blaming someone on each other point. Both the actors are so talented but it was a totally downfall. We all expected more. The people were minimum at the cinema hall and the acting was looked like all the actors were forced into something. The Indian cinema has started such films and getting hit. It's really traumatizing. Nothing except the songs was the good in the movie. It is said to be a classic romcom but the comedy totally trash. It is totally nonsense.

Family movie - weird ending
abhilashaa16 June 2023
This movie was a good for family view but I did not like it much because the ending was so weird. I am invited they have to spend all their house money on some random person whom they did not have any connection or any emotional connection. They could have spent that money on treating their Chachi but no. In fact the jokes were pretty lame I mean he was so thrifty and the jokes were lame!

Great watch!
nikitamathur-996966 June 2023
This movie could have gone either way, but it is doing great only because of the correct casting and the execution of the roles.

Both Sara (shockingly) and Vicky have played their parts well and the chemistry is lovely and fresh. The supporting cast was also funny and it showed emotions of the middle-class Indian family and their values, thinking and how no matter what, family comes first.

Ofcourse being a Hindi movie, it felt a little long at times but never was it boring. The two songs - Phir kya chahiye and Tere Vaaste also adds to the success of the movie.

Left the theatre teary-eyed :)

The film's title says it all!
chand-suhas19 May 2024
Somya is married to Kapil and dreams of having her house. She is not happy living with the joint family due to lack of privacy and Kapil's aunt meddling with their life. The inter-caste marriage already has it's challenges which the loving couple have overcome but the dream to have their own house is shattered after the one they chose is proven to be very expensive. The couple hears about the government scheme i.e. Awas yojana and plans to cheat in order to get a house allotted. As they take the extreme step to divorce each other, hiding the real reason from everybody, what situations they get themselves into forms rest of the story.

For an year, I got carried away with the hype around this film and probably had a different expectations from it. Sadly, the weak writing pulls the film down in such a way, it simply provides no chance for the lead actors to save it. The proceedings is simply devoid of any fun. The songs however I couldn't enjoy in the film thanks to all the insta reels as they felt over exposed. The writing is predictable from the word go and overacting in the courtroom is something I don't find funny at any circumstances. Sara Ali Khan and Vicky Kaushal were good and has a good supporting cast yet the emotions remain superficial throughout for the actors to make it work.

Vicky Kaushal has the ability to even make an average script entertaining
alquainm8 June 2023
Zara Hatke Zara Bachke is strictly decent & entertaining but only in moments and not throughout its screenplay. There are some LoL moments but u got to be patient for those punchlines. Good dialogues & their delivery by the main & supporting cast... The film is packaged as a situational comedy family drama. Film starts off decent but mid screenplay it gets so clumsy, I was literally yawning coz you've seen this before and there's nothing interesting for the goings on to hold your attention. It felt like Director Laxman Utekar is trying hard to hold the viewer to take notice of the moments & feel the emotions in some scenes but it doesn't really hold up. The pre-interval bang again seems interesting. It gets better post interval but again you have to be patient.

Film's saving grace: Vicky Kaushal, Vicky Kaushal, Vicky Kaushal.... and Sara Ali Khan (in some part of the screenplay). Vicky comes across as natural, be it comedy or emotional scenes where you will connect where as Sara although good, comes across as performative (means it feels like she's trying to be natural..in some scenes at least).

A semi-decent watch at the theatre. You can watch it once it comes on OTT.

AVG Film
nitsvirusboyz4 June 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Zara Hatke Zara Bachke failed to impress the audience completely due to its mediocre writing and average performance. The weak plot is predictable and the film never delivered any high moments. Director Laxman Utekar's last film Mimi was very impressive, he could not create that magic with Zara Hatke Zara Bachke.

Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan delivers an average performance. Inaamulhaq and Sharib Hashmi are wasted here. Other supporting actors were just fine in their roles. The dialogues were funny, especially the courtroom scenes in the first half are fun to watch and it will connect emotionally with viewers in the climax too. The background score and music are good in the film. Phir Aur Kya Chahiye is a chartbuster and very soulful.

Direction 3/5 Acting 2.5/5 Music 3/5 Story 2/5 Screenplay 2/5.

I like this movie
rishu-809415 June 2023
Bollywood is back, and it's not going anywhere. You've been waiting for the ultimate family story, and now it's here. It is without a doubt worth the money. Sara Ali Khan is a good worker. Also, you, Vicky Kaushal, should be praised. He is obviously trying to hide his indoori accent. The story has enough of a hook to keep you going. Not a bad movie at all. The elements are likely to speak to a couple who just got married. All the different feelings are made clear. Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan keep getting better together on screen. The story was interesting, and the writing was fun to read, so I'd also like to thank the people who wrote it.

Good way to spend time
rmara175012 August 2023
Went into the movie not expecting anything and it turned out to be a pleasant watch. Does not cover anything groundbreaking but offers glimpses into family dynamics, relationship troubles and how dreams, burdens and misunderstandings play into daily life. Initially found it to be a strange premise for a movie but it does manage to cover interesting topics such as inter cultural clashes and familial expectations and roles getting in the way of what a person really wants to achieve. Cute story with a decent ending. Some parts of the movie feed into negative stereotypes especially about women despite trying to comment on social issues. Performances could have been better.

One of the worst movies of the year
imdadullakhan11 June 2023
The storyline is weak and the execution is also mediocre. The story revolves around a couple who wish to own a house using the flaws of a government scheme. The first half seems okay upto a certain point, but after that it seems like the story is being elongated for no reason. At one point, I wanted to leave the theatre (i've never thought of leaving a theatre before ever 😂). The acting of vicky kaushal is okayish. The movie doesn't plant any emotional connections with the viewers. I almost laughed at a scene which was meant to be an emotional scene.

So, all i can say is please don't waste ur money and time for watching this piece of bs. Cheers 🍻

Good for passing the time!
SoumikBanerjee199617 May 2024
I adore the film's depiction of middle-class families and their everyday struggles in a lighthearted manner. Most of the comedic moments are indeed over-the-top and delivered with exaggerated enthusiasm, but they still manage to create genuinely humorous situations.

The film's downfall lies not in its intention but rather in the script's lack of clarity and ambition. Additionally, I feel the family dynamic is terribly underplayed, which in turn makes the dramatic scenes and the emotions within them feel superficial, or rather half-baked in a sense.

Good for passing the time, but nothing exemplary to write home about.

Great movie
shikhagupta-426193 June 2023
Bollywood, India's film industry, has seen a renaissance. The ultimate family drama has finally arrived. Unquestionably valuable. Sara Ali Khan has done a respectable job as an actress. Also, please extend my best wishes to Vicky Kaushal. His efforts are clear even through his indoori accent. The plot is interesting enough to hold your interest. Not a terrible film. A lot of the things that happen in the stories may actually happen to a new couple. All the subtle feelings are conveyed without a hitch. The on-screen connection between Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan is undeniable. In addition, I appreciate the humorous script and excellent character development.
