"Keep Bikini Bottom", this episode is mostly bland and forgettable. It features Squidward doing community service after littering too much. Some of the gags get used too often. At least we see Squilliam get his comeupannce at the end. It's just weird how no one cares about this because of the next episode. I'm glad Stephen Hillenberg came back. **1/2

"A Pal For Gary", this is ranked as the worst episode of the whole series and it's easy to see why. SpongeBob gets a new pet to keep Gary company, but the pet turns out to be a sharp toothed monster. It sheds it skin revealing a giant fish monster with razor sharp teeth and tongues that have mouths and sharp teeth of their own! SpongeBob is too stupid to realize how obviously monstrous this thing is and instead blames GARY for not wanting to be its friend. It sickens me to see this horrible thing in a kid's cartoon and be amazed at how neglectful SpongeBob is. It's needlessly cruel and it's insane how adults would think shows like "Invader Zim" and "Courage The Cowardly Dog" are bad for children while allowing filth like this to air. *

The only good thing about these two episodes is the song in "Keep Bikini Bottom Beautiful", which, although it has almost nothing to do with the episode, is catchy.

I'm not here to defend these episodes, I don't think they're good at all. But I feel like both of them are super overhated. I found both episodes boring & unfunny, especially A Pal for Gary. Definitely skip.

The episode is terrible. The destruction of the personality of the characters of SpongeBob in that episode was notorious and the little creativity together with a loose writing made an aberrational episode and that only dishonors the legacy of SpongeBob.

I don't care about Keep Bikini Bottom Beautiful but it's sister episode is one the worst things TV has to offer. So this episode starts out with Spongebob feeding Gary later he goes to work. While he's at work Gary spends most of his time watching westerns. Spongebob starts to get worried that Gary is home alone. So he decides to "buy" a pet (He doesn't really buy a pet he just steals one) Named puffy fluffy who hates Gary and wants to kill him. But does Spongebob care HELL no! Instead he blames it on Gary. Remember when Spongebob actually CARED for his pet. Now He's like "Gary? Screw him". Eventually puffy fluffy turns into a monster and starts eating through the fridge. Gary sees this and puffy fluffy attacks Gary. The next day Spongebob wakes up and sees that his house has been wrecked so he goes downstairs and sees the monster puffy fluffy attacking Gary but does think puffy fluffy is evil? No! He thinks puffy fluffy is Gary. So anyways puffy fluffy attacks Spongebob. But Gary saves the Spongebob form puffy fluffy and he never since again. But Spongebob is still mad at Gary. So he decides form now to take Gary wherever he goes. This episode is just cruel to Gary. Why does this episode even exist?

A Pal for Gary is the worst thing ever.

The first episode I could care less about. But it's sister episode. Oh. My. God. A Pal for Gary is freaking horrendous. In fact, I'd consider it the worst SpongeBob episode out there. Gary is tortured for no reason, SpongeBob is completely oblivious and annoying, and Puffy Fluffy is one of the scariest things I've ever seen from this show. This episode is so sadistic to Gary, it makes you wonder if this episode was made by Satan! So overall, it is one of the worst episodes of ANY Nickelodeon show I've ever seen. So whenever you see A Pal for Gary on TV, Either change the channel, turn off your TV, or smash your TV. I don't understand how this episode got a 3.7 rating. It deserves a 1.0 but even that's pushing it!

Keep Bikini Bottom Beautiful is a good episode to look at, but A Pal for Gary is the worst compliment episode to pair it with.

I'm not gonna jump on it with full insanity, but...what exactly IS Gary getting blamed for if he's not doing anything "bad".

It's almost the same like The Precious, Wonderful, Adorable, Lovable Duckling from Courage the Cowardly Dog...but...with Spongebob, a snail, and a terrifying fish monster...

Great...

Seriously, Spongebob becomes very unlikeable because...how is he not seeing what Fluffy "is", especially if he's RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIM?!

And...more importantly, how is Gary's teeth strong enough to rip Spongebob's pants? I don't think anybody has seen that in an episode of him doing that.

Spongebob doesn't even remotely acknowledge that Fluffy's ABOUT TO EAT GARY WHOLE and still is being blamed for it!

Poor writing, badly constructed, and very unlikeable for all the wrong reasons. I'd give this a negative review if anything. Keep this episode away, and watch Keep Bikini Bottom Beautiful.

DREADFUL

Both episodes suck! Keep Bikini Bottom Beautiful just tortures Squidward for no reason! He keeps getting tickets and it's not even funny, and he sometimes he gets tickets for stupid stuff like Squilliam littering (not a joke he actually gets blamed for that.), having garbage on his property, and Spongebob building him a garbage house and statue.

But you think that episode is bad, oh man A Pal For Gary is up there with the worst episode.

Spongebob feels bad for leaving Gary home alone a lot, so he steals a pet for him. I'm not joking about that he actually just takes a pet and we don't even see if he payed for it. Spongebob names him Puffy Fluffy (which sounds stupid), but it turns out Puffy Fluffy hates cats, so he tries to attack Gary everytime, and Spongebob thinks Gary doesn't like Puffy Fluffy.

At night Gary of course has to sleep with Puffy Fluffy to which he tries to eat Gary, and Spongebob still thinks Gary doesn't like him. But Gary sees that Puffy Fluffy has turned into a disturbing monster and all throughout the night tries to eat Gary, and Spongebob doesn't even wake up to hear what's happening. Deaf idiot.

The next morning, Spongebob finds his house trashed and blames Gary for it for some stupid reason. Then Spongebob finds Gary being eaten by Puffy Fluffy. And the most infamous part is what caused people to despise this episode.

Spongebob says: "Gary! You put Puffy down right now! Bad boy Gary! Bad! Bad! Bad boy Gary! Bad! Bad Gary! Bad!"

Yes Spongebob clearly sees Gary being eaten and he punishes Gary?! WHY?! THIS MAKES NO SENSE?! IS THIS MEANT TO BE FUNNY?! WHO WOULD FIND THIS FUNNY?! THIS IS ANIMAL ABUSE!

Then Puffy Fluffy tries to eat Spongebob and he's STILL MAD AT GARY! And Gary ends up saving Spongebob and makes Puffy Fluffy run away, and of course, Spongebob is still mad at Gary. I hate Spongebob so much. In the end, Spongebob ends up taking Gary to work everyday now so he won't feel bad. Yep that's how it ends.

This episode is abhorrent. I can't believe someone would even make this. The only part I liked was how Spongebob says enchiladas. That's it. It's bad if the only part I liked was only one word a character says. Don't ever watch A Pal For Gary please.

These two are without a doubt the worst SpongeBob episodes ever

These two are definitely without a doubt the worst SpongeBob episodes ever. The first of these two to start with is Keep Bikini Bottom Beautiful. The episode starts of with Squidward walking to work until he steps on a piece of gum and throws it aside and then a police officer gives him a penalty of being a litterbug and Squidward is forced to do community service and the worst part of that is every time Squidward litters again, he keeps getting extra work of community service. This is also the worst Squidward torture porn to watch here. Also his arch rival Squilliam Fancysome makes fun of him for being a litterbug. Well jokes on him, Squidward already did something successful for once and that was being the conductor for that marching band with the help of SpongeBob and that is still my most favorite episode of the show. The other SpongeBob episode that we come across to dislike is A Pal For Gary. In this episode SpongeBob gets another pet so it can be friends with Gary, but little did he know that the pet was actually a rampaging snail eating monster. The worst part about that is that SpongeBob doesn't notice it and almost lets Gary be eaten alive by being stupid and telling Gary that he's being a bad influence on the other pet/monster and then the monster tries to eat SpongeBob and then Gary saves him and the monster runs away and SpongeBob blames it on Gary for chasing it away. Hello! Earth to SpongeBob. That thing tried to freaking eat you for Christs sake. You should be thankful for Gary that he saved you instead of being a total jackass about it. SpongeBob is totally out of character in this episode and the writer of this should be ashamed of writing this atrocity. The writer must've felt pretty dumb after writing this anyway. The old writers of the earlier episodes did great, but most of these newer writers are stupid and should be fired. These two episodes are episodes that I'll never ever watch again. So I recommend to every other SpongeBob fan to skip these two. Worst SpongeBob episodes ever. Enough said.

I like both of those episodes. It's actually not bad for me.

I like both episodes. The beginning was pretty funny. I like how the can was bouncing on a lot of things. I like how there was phone call to Gary, where Gary is just having fun. I love how puffy fluffy is very bipolar. He screams at Gary, yet all nice when SpongeBob comes. I love when SpongeBob tells Gary to put Fluffy down because it's so silly and ironic, it's funny! The monstrous form is well made! Onto Keep Bikini Bottom Beautiful, it was REALLY funny!! I love how the police keep on giving Squidward a ticket. It just had a lot of gags. There is not much to say about this episode. I don't care about torture, I only hate it if it's boring.

The first one is just mid but the second one is absolutely trash with the story line and characters. So first off SpongeBob is really out of character and being mean to Gary for no reason. SpongeBob is trash and mean even when the pet is revealed to be a monster. SpongeBob is even mean when the monster is eating Gary blaming Gary for stuff he did not do so SpongeBob is very unlikable. When this episode comes on I turn it off right away. It is that how bad it is. Trash episode, Do not recommend it. The other episode should not be grouped into this episode because The Gary one is that bad. Bad episode.

Whatever Fluffy evolved into is so gross!

OK so for the pilot of my new series cartoon crimes I am reviewing a pal for Gary. OH MAN is this episode bad it starts with filler which goes on for 30 seconds of the episode So the plot which I use very loosely is about spongebob feeling that Gary will be lonely when he's at work even though he's had the snail for years and hasn't felt it before but oh well I'm I'm just being nitpickey so yeah so blah blah blah filler at work and random garbage that sets the awful plot into action then on the way home he sees a gypsy selling pets and buys one literally ignoring the shopkeeper and walking off without paying man I hate this episode so suddenly in a sweep of graceful animation the thing grows a thousand teeth and spongebob starts being an oblivious jerk and there's the problem it's nothing more then the sponge being a jerk to his favorite pet so after a lot of spongebob is a jerk moments then the creature evolves into the night and man is the animation disgusting later sponge bob crosses the line BY TELLING GARY TO PUT THE CREATURE FROM HECK DOWN EVEN THOUGH IT IS GLARINGLY OBVIOUS THAT GARY IS BEING EATEN then we get a kick in the Pants ending where SPONGEBOB CHEWS OUT GARY AND DEPRIVES HIM OF HIS TIME awful episode 0/10

Keep Bikini Bottom Beautiful is alright.

A Pal for Gary on the other hand.... One of my least favorite episodes of any show I've ever seen. I remember hating this episode when I first saw air as a young kid, and I am glad to see that it is the worst rated episode of the entire show. SpongeBob is so ridiculously out of character throughout the entire episode. While in the older seasons SpongeBob can sometimes be neglectful to Gary, he always comes to realize his mistake and shows how much he really cares about him like in 'Have you seen this snail.' None of that is present in this episode with SpongeBob being so oblivious he doesn't realize the pain Gary is in. The worst part of the episode is the fact that SpongeBob blames Gary for trashing his house and believes that Gary is the one who is causing harm to the monster. I don't know what the writers were thinking when they made this episode, it just makes you hate SpongeBob and feel terrible for Gary the entire time. The episode doesn't even have a good resolution as SpongeBob still scolds Gary after Gary saves his life by chasing the monster out of the house when it tried to eat SpongeBob.

I give this episode a half because The first was good and the second was an atrocious

A pal for Gary is a sorry excuse for an episode it's not even good gary was perfect all alone but when Puffy Fluffy came in it literally attacked poor Gary he got blamed for it by Spongebob But Keep Bikini Bottom Clean was good it was very funny how Squidward got charged so many times.

"Keep Bikini Bottom Beautiful" Is boring and a waste of time its also unfair since squidward didn't even litter in the first places its unenjoyable and a bit frustrating to get through but its nothing compared to the second one.

"A Pal For Gary" is so bad. It starts off fine but then after spongebob gets his new pet his pet wants to eat Gary and everytime he gets mad at Gary despite him doing nothing he's so oblivious to this that even when the new pet is attacking Gary Infront of him he blames Gary and tells him to stop hurting his new pet. Spongebob is so unlikable in this episode and extremely out of character. This episode has no redeeming qualities and honestly your better off not watching it.

Come on guys, there are some things too enjoy about this episode , Fluffy's design, The animation, the fight scenes, gary saving the day. The first half is more dull than anything else. Sure spongebob is oblivious but thats part of his character, even though he is overly oblivious, and it's at the cost of gary's life, which does make this episode bad, but not bottom 10 bad. BTW, is spongebob any worse than he is in episodes like boating buddies or choir boys?, overall this episode gets a 4/10 for me, Keep bikini bottom beautiful is pretty Ok, squidward wins over squilliam, although that cop pisses me off, i give that episode a 6/10, pushing both the episodes with an average with a 5/10

1st Episode Literally Keeps Torturing Squidward Of Tickets, Sometimes Those Tickets Were Actually Meant For Squilliam But The Officer Just Gave It To Squidward, Like Goddamn The Creators Of The Show Must Hate Squidward In This Episode, The Only Part That I Liked Was The Garbage House Squidward Lived, Before He Smelled it, 2nd episode, oh my god its atrocious, gary got a weird Friend then that "friend" becomes the most ugliest creature in the whole series. No wonder this episode ranked the worst of all spongebob episodes Like What Are The Creators Trying To Do? Make a horror movie with just 1 episode? The only part i liked was the fact that it ended.

I understand why the episode is infamous it's horrible. It's just SpongeBob at his stupidest. And when he saw Gary being held up by fluffy, he still blamed, this episode had potential but for me it's the absolute worst episode of SpongeBob ever made. The only thing I liked about it is well Mr. Krabs is totally in character here and he's just there everything else I do not like about the episode and it's partnered with an episode that is one that I consider to be meh I hate this episode don't watch this episode if you do not like SpongeBob doing animal cruelty on his pet that he will go to Atlantis for.

A Pal for Gary is one of the worst SpongeBob Squarepants episodes of all time

A Pal for Gary is one of the worst SpongeBob Squarepants episodes I've ever seen. I watched it on Nickelodeon (UK and Ireland) about few times. It's absolutely terrible! It's just so unfunny and unwatchable. I absolutely hate it.

In this episode, SpongeBob gets a pet called Puffy Fluffy to keep Gary company while he isn't home, but the creature plans to eat Gary.

The lady warns SpongeBob Squarepants about the green creature that terrorises pets but SpongeBob doesn't listen to her and he ignores her warnings about the same creature.

SpongeBob is such a complete idiot. He's just really stupid.

SpongeBob tells Gary to put Puffy Fluffy down even when Gary is going to be devoured in the monster's mouth. Is he blind or something?

At least Puffy Fluffy does get his comeuppance for his actions after being whipped in the face by Gary, getting his mouth tied up, and then running away, which is hilarious and thankfully he never appears again after this atrocious episode. I'd say he's definitely one of the most hated characters in the entire SpongeBob Squarepants franchise.

Keep Bikini Bottom Beautiful isn't very good as the other SpongeBob Squarepants episodes. It's just mediocre for me. Poor Squidward who gets caught littering and gets sentenced to community service about too many times.

I'm not gonna watch those bad episodes of SpongeBob Squarepants again. Not even on Paramount Plus. I'll just have to totally forget about them and move on.
